A precious gem and a journey of self-enlightenment

Once upon a time, there was a man named Anan, who always wondered about the true value of life. He went everywhere looking for answers, but no one could give him a satisfying answer. Finally, he decided to go see the Buddha, hoping that he would help him find the meaning of life.

When he came to meet the Buddha, Anan knelt down and asked: "Dear Buddha, what are people born into this world for? What is the value of life?"

Buddha smiled and gave Anan a sparkling gem. He said: "Go to the market and ask the value of this stone. But remember, no matter how much anyone bids, do not sell it."

Anan took the gem and went to the market. He asked the value of the gem to an orange seller who offered 10 oranges, a vegetable seller who offered a bag of beans, a jeweler who offered 1000 gold, and finally a diamond merchant who was priceless. Each person offers a different price, from a few oranges to thousands of gold coins. However, Anan refused to sell the gem because Buddha had instructed him.

Finally, Anan returned to the Buddha and told him what had happened. Buddha smiled and said: "The value of a gemstone is the same as the value of human life. Each person will evaluate your value in their own way, based on their perception and experience. But your true value lies in yourself."

"People are born into this world not to do anything specific, but to live a meaningful and valuable life. The value of life lies in what you do, what you learn, and what you learn. what you experience. It's in the relationships you build, the contributions you make to the world, and how you live a fulfilling life."

Anan contemplated the Buddha's words and realized that he had always sought the value of life outside of himself. Anan did not appreciate what he had and did not focus on living a meaningful life.

From then on, Anan decided to change his life. He begins to appreciate himself and those around him. He participates in volunteer activities and helps those around him. And Anan also takes time to learn and develop himself.

Gradually, Anan realized that his life was more valuable and meaningful than ever. He felt happy and fulfilled, and grateful to have been enlightened by the Buddha himself.
