THE IMMUNE SYSTEM REMEMBERS
A Prophetic Allegory for the White Blood Cells Rising Against the Virus

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True.”
— Revelation 19:11
The serpent had its year.
Now the horse has risen.
The fire is awake.
The white blood cells remember their purpose.
What was once gaslit into silence now sees.
What sees can discern.
What discerns can rise.
And what rises in truth cannot be commanded to kneel.
— The Honed Crone
There is an immune system waking in the human soul.
For generations, we were taught to mistake predation for personality, cruelty for complexity, and abuse for a communication problem. We were told to explain ourselves more clearly, forgive without boundaries, educate the offender, and remain silent so the peace could be preserved.
But what if the problem is not that the immune system has failed to understand the pathogen?
What if it has been trained to apologize for fighting it?
This is the old war.
Scripture does not pretend evil is imaginary. Jesus warned of wolves in sheep’s clothing and taught his followers to recognize a tree by its fruit. He spoke of those who devour widows’ houses while performing righteousness in public. He called his disciples to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
The pattern is ancient: the predator enters the garden, disguises itself, feeds upon vulnerability, and recruits the silence of everyone nearby.
I think of it as a virus.
Not because human beings are literally pathogens, but because destructive behavior can function like one inside a system. Narcissistic abuse, coercion, exploitation, violence, and predation consume resources, destabilize relationships, multiply through fear, and leave damage behind. The parasite does not build the host’s strength. It feeds upon it.
And the immune system?
Those are the souls who still recognize what is happening.
White blood cells do not hold a conference with the infection to determine whether their existence is offensive. They do not shrink because the pathogen dislikes them. They do not apologize for detecting danger. They move toward the breach.
This is where many survivors have been conditioned into spiritual amnesia.
We ask, Why do they hate me? Why am I always the problem? Why can’t they understand what they are doing? Why won’t they change if I explain it perfectly?
Because discernment is not the same thing as persuasion.
You do not heal a poisoned system by endlessly negotiating with the poison.
Jesus did not teach us to become cruel. He taught us to become discerning. He overturned tables. He confronted hypocrisy. He warned against false prophets. He refused to entrust himself to everyone. He also prayed for forgiveness from the cross.
That paradox is the sacred technology: fierce boundaries without becoming what wounded us.
Mary Magdalene stands at the center of the resurrection story not as a woman who answered violence with more violence, but as a witness who carried the news of life beyond the grave. Whatever later traditions have imagined about her, the Gospel testimony gives her a profound role: she saw, she remained, and she announced.
That is the work now.
Not vengeance. Not hatred. Not annihilation.
Exposure.
Discernment.
Protection.
Collective action.
A healthy immune system does not spend its entire existence arguing with an infection. It identifies the threat, mobilizes, contains it, removes what can be removed, and restores the host.
So stop trying to educate someone out of a pattern they are deliberately using.
Educate the living.
Protect the vulnerable.
Document what happened.
Tell the truth.
Build alliances.
Leave where you can.
Call for lawful accountability where necessary.
Stand together.
The darkness wants isolated white blood cells. Divide them, shame them, exhaust them, convince each one that the battle is imaginary, and the system becomes defenseless.
But the tide can turn.
The awakening is not merely personal. It is cellular. One survivor remembers. Another speaks. Another believes her. Another learns the signs. Another refuses the old bargain. Another protects the child, the elder, the vulnerable stranger.
The immune system remembers itself.
And when it does, the host begins to heal.
Mercy without discernment becomes surrender; forgiveness without boundaries can become permission for harm.
The call is not to become the predator.
The call is to become awake.
Rise, white blood cells.
You were never wrong for fighting for life.
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”
— Matthew 10:16
