🦊🔥 Fox Fire 🔥🦊
No one knows where they come from or why they go into the darkness of the forest. The trail they take is over the marsh, and they are lit by foxfire, each fox carrying its own flame.
If you dare spy on them at night, you will see a line of flame running over the marsh to the dark forest.
Some say they go to meet their master and take instructions; others say they come to the forest to find other creatures to feast upon. If a fox kills chickens or other livestock, people call it fox devils, but that's just foxes doing what foxes do to live.
Eventually the foxes stream out of the forest in a line across the marsh, but there is no foxfire when they leave; you may wonder why.
They may be coming to feed their master with their foxfire, or it may be as simple as the foxfires just burning out. They may need their foxfire to keep them om the marsh path when they come, and when they leave, they have learned the path and don't need the foxfire.
If you do enter the forest after the foxes have left, you will find no sign that they have been there, apart from some fur on branches. No signs of animals being hunted, and no temple of worship.
They will come again and will always keep their secret from humanity.
