Elsa and the Black Ice

The storm ended. But something colder remained.

By GoldenSpeechPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

After Arendelle thawed, Elsa built her palace again — higher, sharper, silent.

She said it was only for solitude. But every night, the ice whispered.

It wasn’t her power speaking. It was the thing inside it.

When she reached the core of the mountain, she found a black crystal pulsing like a heart. Her reflection inside it smiled before she did.

“You think you control the cold?” it said. “I was here before warmth was born.”

She tried to freeze it — but the ice turned dark, crawling up her arms.

By dawn, her palace was gone. Only a spire of black ice remained, gleaming in the sunlight.

When her sister touched it, she heard Elsa’s voice inside:

“The cold never bothered me. Because I was never the one feeling it.”

Now the locals whisper that the ice grows when someone lies. And that, sometimes, if you listen close enough, it laughs.
