'The Kelpie Pond' by Jaimie Whitbread from The Enchanted Booklet

Introduction

This is from a painting by Jaimie Whitbread shared by The Enchanted Booklet here:

I have included a video of The Kelpies - Andy Scott's Equine Sculptures near Falkirk, Scotland, which nearly caused me to run off the road the first time I encountered them.

Come to The Kelpie Pond

Take my hand and come with me to The Kelpie Pond, and let us share the magic together. This pond is deep in the forest, so we walk through the trees and eventually see the water. There is hardly a ripple, but we feel there is something here beside us, a soul, a spirit, something ethereal.

Then we see lights in the water, the lights are the eyes of a water horse, a kelpie, and it sees us watching it. Its beauty transfixes us, but we do not know its intentions, and then we see more lights.

These lights are eyes, eyes of more kelpies. There seem to be too many for the pond. Are they real or ghostly entities, not of this realm?

We watch these beautiful creatures, apparitions in the water, but we feel at peace, and they mean us no harm.

We stay at The Kelpie Pond and eventually the lights go out, and there is nothing but ripples on the water.

Then we walk back through the forest, our spirits replenished by souls from an otherworldly place.

One day we will return.
