The girl sitting in the room, Sashi tending to the burns.

“Chto-to ingekho, Ize.” Sashi said. “Utsho imeyesh' v vidu?” Ize replied puzzled, “Ycinge? Kak oni sebya vedut, bakwinto ethile ne nravitsya.” Sashi growled venom dripping from her words. “Ndiyaqikelela; oni slishkom schastlivy videt' nas zdes'.” Ize replied timiledly. In the five years they’ve been together she’d never seen her like this. “Yiloo nto ndiyithethayo. Etot chelovek khotel, chtoby ne pomylis' i odelis' opredelennym obrazom.” Sashi said, gesturing to their state of dress. Just then two men burst into the room and grabbed the girls. “Sashi!” Ize cried fighting to get loose. “Ize!” Sashi cried fighting to get to the only sense of family she had left. The girls were put in separate cells but close enough for them to hear each other. Sashi could hear Ize crying out loud. “Ize, Kulungile; YA zdes'. Ukhuselekile!” Sashi said, trying to reassure her. “Sa-Sashi?” Ize said through sobs “Ingaba ty?” “Da. Ndim. Vy udarilis’?” Sashi whispered. “Hayi: Ty?” Ize replied in the whisper.

Lady Wiltfong paced around a post and made sure a child or two would burn to dust with no evidence. A bell rang signaling the rise of the moon. “It’s time, get them out here and tie them to the stake.” She commanded.

Two men walk up to Sashi’s cell. “IZE!” Sashi cried out “Ize!” Sashi said in a warred tone. “Ndincede” She cried “Я стараюсь, Ize! Мне жаль!” Ize cried in a defeated tone trying to open the door to the cell. “Uxolo!”

After about an hour Ize heard the painful cries of Sashi’s “Нет, я не хочу идти. Hayi! Yeka!” than a blood curdling scream. “SASHI!!” Ize cried

Sashi POV

I screamed and struggled with all my strength as I was tied to stake. The woman who ordered Ize and I to be separated was chanting. “Oh great Goddess Ara, we humbly offer you this sacrifice.” she finished with “may the light of this fire burn as bright as you.” She threw a burning torch at the pyre at my feet “Нет, я не хочу идти. Hayi! Yeka!” I scream seeing the fire inch closer and closer.

3rd person POV

Ize cried the smell of burning flesh and the sound of Sashi’s voice pleading to not be burned and her scream were etched into her memory. She just layed on the floor, tears falling as if they had a mind of their own. The morning bell rang signaling the sealing of her fate. She closed her eyes for no more than a moment. The shrill voice of Syndie rang out “get off the floor! You filthy animal!” as she was pulled to her feet. “You filthy girl!” Syndie said as Ize felt herself being shaken. “Syndie!” Lady Wiltfong's voice boomed “what are you doing, don’t damage the sacrifice! We can’t send a harmed sacrifice! You know this.” The woman stopped shaking the young girl. “But she was on the floor dirtying the lovely dress” she shouted “the cleanliness of the clothes doesn’t matter!” Wiltfong shouted. “Get out!” Lady Wiltfong gently examined the young girl’s arms for marks, and looked pleased to find none. “I’m sorry, you had the displeasure of meeting her;” she said with a smile “I mean now I can get rid of her and not have to worry about the state of our harvest.” her voice kinda trailed off like a thought bubble had popped. She took Ize by the hand; Ize didn’t struggle; she just let herself be led out to a pair of stakes as if she wasn’t in control of her own body. One still had a charred corpse on the ground in front of it. Ize started sobbing till she threw up and passed out.
