As winter approaches, it brings cool weather and problems like the flu and laziness. Have no fear; this article offers tried-and-true methods to improve your health this winter. Find easy, simple methods that you can use at home.

Cough remedies — fast and effective

Lukewarm water: To ease throat pain and breathing problems, start your day with a cup of lukewarm water, a natural alternative to cough syrups.

Honey and propolis: Mix honey and propolis to make a potent mixture that kills germs, including bacteria, fungi, viruses, and inflammation. If you want to see effects in a few days, take it on an empty stomach.

Treat throat congestion without antibiotics

Ginger green tea: Make green tea with honey and ginger if you have a stuffy throat. This is a soothing treatment that you should do three times a day.

Honey-lemon water: Warm water with honey and lemon can help ease coughing. Do this routine twice a day to feel even better.

Healthy Options for Flu and Cough Recovery

Organic chicken soup: If you have the flu, start feeling better faster with a cup of chicken soup. Choose organically fed chicken over broiler chicken if you can.

Breathing in steam: Breathing in steam can help ease sore throats and stop coughing. Put water that has been boiled into a bowl. Then, put a towel over your head and lean over the bowl to keep the steam in. Take a few minutes to breathe deeply.

A few drops of eucalyptus oil added to a bowl of hot water can be used to make steam that you can breathe in. Because it is naturally decongestant, eucalyptus oil can help clear your lungs.

Tablets for the throat: Sucking on throat lozenges can temporarily stop coughing by soothing your throat and stopping your cough response.

A humidifier can add wetness to the air in your home, which can help you cough less, especially if the air is dry. Clean your humidifier often to keep mold and bugs from growing in it.

Position your head higher: If you cough at night, try sleeping with extra pillows under your head. This can help stop postnasal drip and coughing at night.

Peppermint tea: Peppermint tea naturally contains menthol, which can help soothe sore throats and stop coughing. For comfort, drink a cup of hot peppermint tea before going to sleep.

Boost your immunity

The richest source of omega-3: Small seeds of Linseed are winter superheroes! They are packed naturally with a lot of Omega-3, which helps fight off colds and allergies by reducing inflammation.

Immunity all-rounder: It boosts immunity by easing joint discomfort or helping with respiratory issues. You can make its special (pinna) balls with the addition of wheat flour and jaggery. Or sprinkle it on your daily meals.

Breaking winter laziness — maintain energy

Brisk walks: To fight winter fatigue, make brisk walks a regular part of your life. Boost your energy and blood flow to make winter worry easier to handle.

The five-minute walk: Learn how walking briefly every 30 minutes can help you stay active even when it’s cold outside.

Connect with others

Everyone goes into warm blanket mode over the winter, but staying connected socially is crucial for your emotional and mental health.

Plan to spend time with family and friends, whether it’s in person, online, or outside. Your winter days might be brightened by making happy memories and laughing with loved ones.

Check out these tried-and-true ways to welcome winter with strength and energy. My most tested one is drinking warm water on an empty stomach for throat congestion and brisk walking. Please share your experiences about coping with the challenges of the winter season. As winter approaches, stay warm, busy, and healthy.

I agree that these healthy tips are much needed in Sweden where I live. When it snowed yesterday I made myself do some yoga stretches then walk briskly around outside my house twice; it was cold but it helped my "low" feeling. I want spring flowers! I also believe in my local honey's healing properties. Great article Ameer!
