About this challenge
The Prompt
Write a piece about a small, everyday victory that ends up meaning more than expected.
Small wins are so easy to overlook. They pass quickly, often without recognition, even when they carry more weight than expected.
For this challenge pay attention to one of those moments. Consider what makes it feel small at first, and why it begins to matter more. The shift does not need to be dramatic. It can happen quietly, in how the moment lingers or changes something that follows.
Keep the piece rooted in a clear moment. Let what matters emerge through what changes, even if the shift is subtle.
In order for your submission to qualify, it must be:
- Between 600 and 3,000 words.
- Submitted to the Motivation community. Your story will be disqualified if it is submitted to any other community.
- Submitted before April 17, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.
- Your work must be original and unpublished.

How to enter
For your story to be eligible, it must be between 600 and 3,000 words and adhere to our Community Guidelines.
Stories published on Vocal and entered into the Challenge up until April 17, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST will be entered for consideration. Official Rules for the Challenge can be found here.

To be eligible to win, you must be over the age of 13 and reside in a country where Stripe is available at the time of entry.
