‘Tis the season of giving back! Spreading generosity can guarantee to make somebody’s day a lot brighter. So we’re in search of more ways to give back to our communities at an individual level. In the end, any and all acts of kindness are ways to express our gratitude towards each other!
Enter our Good Deeds Challenge and help us inspire more acts of generosity. Whether someone in front of you in line paid for your coffee or you gave your Christmas bonus to a cause you believe in, we want you to tell us more about the small acts of selflessness you've experienced. This can be anything good that you did for someone, or something that someone did for you! Small gestures are underrated so let's celebrate some of these good deeds and encourage others to do the same. In an effort to give back, we'll be making a donation to the World Central Kitchen. With your help, we can build a better future together!
For your story to be eligible, it must be between 600 and 5,000 words and adhere to our Community Guidelines. Stories published on Vocal and entered into the contest up until January 28, 2021, at 11:59 PM EST will be entered for consideration. Official Rules for the Challenge can be found here.
To be eligible to win the grand prize, second place, or third place prizes, you must be over the age of 13 and residing in a country where Stripe is available at the time of entry. A complete list of countries where Stripe is available can be found here—winners will need to have a Stripe account created and connected in order to receive the prizes. For this reason, entrants located outside of any of these 35 countries will not be eligible to win.
When we launched Challenges one year ago today, we could never have anticipated the milestones we’d reach. What started off as a new way to encourage creativity and reward creators to think outside the box and participate in competitions across topics and interests, quickly evolved into so much more—thanks to you.
After my internship ended early from the coronavirus pandemic and freelance film industry jobs were left in shambles, I found myself with an overabundance of time and a lack of money. Fortunately, I remembered a little website called Vocal where I won a writing Challenge the year before.
Today we’re excited to introduce Challenges, a new way for creators to get inspired and join the rest of the Vocal community in some friendly competition. Starting this week, creators will be able to participate in various Challenges across a range of topics and interests for the chance to win cash prizes, experiences, and much more.
