Hello,

Jai Shri Radhe — Radhe

How are you ,

Hope you are healthy and happy,

So let us tell you a real story today,

The name of our today’s story is,

*

“Indra, the king of gods, tested Yudhishthira.”

*

So let’s start the story

After the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas ruled for many years. Later, leaving behind their kingdom, the five brothers and Draupadi embarked on a journey of renunciation.

During their journey, a dog joined them. As they continued, Draupadi stumbled and fell. Bhima rushed to help her, but Yudhishthira stopped him, saying Draupadi’s time had come, and they should move on.

Baffled, Bhima asked why Draupadi fell and if there was some forgotten duty. Yudhishthira revealed that Draupadi, though their common wife, had a special affection for Arjuna, and that was her flaw.

Leaving Draupadi behind, the brothers continued, and the dog accompanied them. After a while, Sahadeva fell, and when questioned, Yudhishthira explained that Sahadeva’s downfall was his arrogance about his intelligence.

As the journey continued, Nakula stumbled, and Yudhishthira revealed that Nakula’s downfall was his pride in his beauty. Finally, it was Arjuna’s turn to fall. Yudhishthira explained that Arjuna’s downfall was his belief that he could single-handedly defeat the entire enemy army, leaving his journey incomplete.

Now, only the dog accompanied Bhima and Yudhishthira on the path. Soon, the mighty Bhima began to slip and fall. When asked, Yudhishthira listed Bhima’s faults: overeating and arrogance in his strength. Yudhishthira was now alone, with only the dog by his side.

After Yudhishthira’s challenging journey, the gods were amazed. Yudhishthira was certain of attaining liberation. However, Lord Indra did not accept it and decided to test Yudhishthira.

Indra appeared before Yudhishthira, praising his virtues and tempting him with the offer of going to heaven immediately. Yudhishthira, however, laid a unique condition. He said, “This dog has been with me throughout this difficult journey. If you want to take me to heaven, the dog must come with me.”

Indra was surprised and argued that there was no place for dogs in heaven. Yudhishthira replied, “I have followed righteousness throughout my life. Now, in the final moment, how can I abandon dharma?” Indra tried to entice him with unimaginable wealth, immortality, peace, and love, but Yudhishthira remained firm.

Yudhishthira stated, “I am ready to give up the thought of going to heaven, but I cannot leave the dog alone. It stood by me in difficult times, and I am deeply connected to its loyalty. If there is no place for such loyalty in heaven, then how can it be heaven for me?”

Acknowledging Yudhishthira’s unwavering commitment to righteousness, Lord Indra revealed his divine form. The dog disappeared, and in its place stood Dharma Raj, Yudhishthira’s father. Yudhishthira, astonished, was praised by Dharma Raj for his virtues, and together they ascended to heaven in Lord Indra’s chariot.
