Hello,

Jai Shri Radhe Radhe

How are you,

Hope you are healthy and happy,

So let us tell you a story today,

The name of our today's story is,

“Balakhilya sages created a new ‘Indra’”

Let's start the story :-

Kashyap, the grandson of Lord Brahma and father of the gods, was about to perform a grand yagya.

Kashyap had also requested the sages named 'Balkhilya' to cooperate in that yagya.

Balakhilya is a special type of group of sages. He is the son of Prajapati Kratu and his wife Santati. Their size is as big as a thumb, but they are as bright as the sun.

They are sixty thousand and all together walk in front of the chariot of Sun God every day, praising him. These sages worship by hanging upside down on trees and consume only sunlight.

Although Kashyap knew that the Balkhilya sages were small in size and would not be able to collect much wood, yet to maintain their respect, Kashyap sought their cooperation.

Balkhilya also accepted to contribute to the Yagya by going beyond his physical limitations.

Kashyap also asked his son Devraj Indra to cooperate in the yagya. He said to Indra, 'The yagya will be very grand, so I need wood in abundance.' 'You rest assured, father! Arrangements for wood will be made.

' Indra said, and set out to arrange wood for the yagya. He found a huge wooden block in the forest, with which he set out towards the ashram of his father Kashyap.

Meanwhile, sage Balkhilya was also out searching for wood. While roaming around he saw a branch which he liked for the Yagya. All the sixty thousand-fingered sages started walking towards Kashyap's ashram, staggering with the twig.

On the way, sages Indra and Balkhilya met. Indra arrogantly insulted him and asked—'Rishivar, where are you going with this yard-long branch?

The sages understood Indra's mockery but after paying attention to Kashyap Muni, they just said, 'We are taking Samidha wood as a contribution to your father's yagya.'

'Samidha… ha! Ha!!' Indra said laughing. What will happen with this thin branch? Have you considered my father's Yagya to be of your own size?”

'Indra! Cooperation is not measured by size but by dedication. You are Indra but keep in mind that nothing or person is inevitable in the universe. This was Balkhilya's warning to Indra.

Indra was full of ego. He said, 'Do you know that you are talking to Indra, the lord of the gods?' Hearing this, the Balkhilya sages put down the branch and took water in their hands and said, 'You are very proud of your position as 'Indra'.

Therefore, we resolve that with the power of our yoga, we will create a new Indra who, apart from being virtuous, will be more powerful and intelligent than you.

Then the sages picked up the branch kept below and started towards Kashyap's ashram.

When Kashyap came to know about this incident, he told Balkhilya that there can be only one Indra in the world, so he should forgive Indra and give up his resolve.

Balkhilya was in a dilemma. But withdrawing the resolution was even more difficult. At last, Balkhilya thought of a solution. He told Kashyap, 'We cannot take back the resolution, but we can amend it.

The Indra who will be born will be called 'Indra of birds'! With this the resolution will also be fulfilled and the supremacy of Indra Pad will also remain intact.

Later, Kashyap's wife Vinata gave birth to Garuda, who became the vehicle of Lord Vishnu and was called 'Indra' (king of birds) of birds.

Main part of the story :-

Balkhilya sages put down the branch and took water in their hands and said, 'You are very proud of your position of 'Indra'.

Therefore, we resolve that with the power of our yoga, we will create a new Indra who, apart from being virtuous, will be more powerful and intelligent than you.

Learning lesson from the story:

It is important to respect all people, regardless of their size or status. The Balkhilya sages were small in size, but they were very powerful and wise. Kashyap respected them and sought their cooperation in the yagya.

We should not judge others based on their appearance or physical limitations. Indra arrogantly insulted the Balkhilya sages because of their size. He should have judged them based on their character and abilities.
