A cave deep within a mountain didn’t echo your own voice back—it answered your questions. When villagers asked, “Who am I?” it replied with laughter, footsteps, or silence. A lonely woman asked, “What will make me whole?” and the cave answered with the faint sound of wings. Years later, she became a caretaker for injured birds and realized the cave had told her who she was before she knew.
