My Debut Jungian-Themed Poetry Chapbook is Officially Here
Leading with the Ouroboros

I am excited to announce that my debut Jungian-themed poetry chapbook is officially here!
Recently, I began my Vocal Media creator's break so I could focus on my project. Part one, the chapbook, is complete, and now I am off on the second half of my journey, writing the full-length book. While I've missed out on writing challenges and fallen far behind in my reading here, I am amped for the next phase of my creator's experience.
As a Vocal Media creator since 2020, those who know me know that poetry has always been and always will be my first love of writing. Reflecting on my earliest poems shows a writer who has come a long way since her platform debut, and perhaps more importantly, a writer who has finally stopped silencing her inner voice and risen to the occasion to express her authentic self.
Enough was enough, and I decided I was all in; a Jungian-themed poetry book called to me, and the source of that inspiration came from a poem I shared on this platform. Longing Landline was published last June and curated as a top story. At the very moment I completed this poem, my soul knew that Carl Jung's influence on this piece would inspire many more, ones that would fill an entire book.
From a year ago to the present, my dream has come true. Finally, the deep thinker in me has come forth speaking her truth with my favored art, poetry.
Leading with the Ouroboros
Artistically, I have chosen the Ouroboros (or Uroboros) as my book cover image.
Deriving from Egyptian and Greek roots, Ouroboros means "tail-eater." It is the universal symbol of infinity, the cosmos's cyclical nature, and the eternal rhythm of destruction and rebirth.
In Jungian psychology, the Ouroboros signifies the preconscious state (original perfection) in which the ego and unconscious mind haven't yet separated.
Due to its cyclical nature, the "tail-eater" dominates my cover art to remind the reader that Individuation(the lifelong psychological process of becoming a distinct, authentic individual) is never a straight line to the finish, but rather a series of waves and psychological loops.
The book
My Jungian-themed chapbook, Shadow's Reprieve, consists of three parts. Part One embodies the Persona, Two, the Shadow, and Three, the Self.
Fifteen poems written across several months cover three archetypes with a mission: To open the reader's eyes to their own journey and what steps they are currently taking on the path to their truest, most authentic self.
Self-published on Draft2digital last week, Shadow's Reprieve will be available soon in hardcover.
How am I doing so far?
While it's premature to project, I've gotten nearly 100 hits already with my E-book format, which isn't too shabby since it's been only a week.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me on Vocal Media, and much appreciation for anyone who purchases a copy of Shadow's Reprieve!
While I can't say for sure when I will return to regular writing and challenge participation on Vocal, I will be around here and there to read, clap, and comment on my favorite creators' stories and poetry.
