When You Have a Bad Hair Day

Just because it is a bad hair day doesn't mean it's a bad day.

Now say it with me, ladies: "A bad hair day does not make it a bad day." Everyone has experienced the frustration of having a bad hair day, when no matter what you do, you just can't get it right. Ladies, this isn't the end of the world, and we shouldn't let it put us in a bad mood. So take a deep breath and relax as we work through this together. Here are some helpful pieces of information to get you through your bad hair day with as little stress as possible.

When Brushing and Combing Don't Seem to Help

Brushing our hair can be a nightmare sometimes, especially when it seems like the more we brush, the worse it gets. You've probably just gotten out of bed and are getting ready to start your day, but your hair has other plans. The more you brush, the frizzier it gets. The less you look like a model, and the more you look like a Chia pet gone wrong. There are a few fast and easy solutions for this. You can tie your hair back in a ponytail or bun, you can braid it, you can throw a bandana over it in a cute tied back look, you can wear a hat, or go for the messy just rolled out of bed look. All these options are a quick fix to hair that refuses to be combed. And the best part is they don't take much time to do. Personally, I prefer to just tie my hair back in a bun or go with the messy just out of bed look. But that's just because it takes little to no effort to do.

This is NOT the color I was going for.

Getting the wrong color hair dye can seem like a disaster, but in reality, it's not that bad. If it turns out darker than you meant for it to, then relax. It will lighten up with time. On the other hand, if the color is lighter than you originally thought, it would be that too is an easy fix. Just wait a couple of weeks and go over it with a slightly darker shade. Sometimes, though, the problem isn't that it turned out too light or too dark though. Sometimes the problem is it's not the right color AT ALL. This can pose a problem but it is not necessarily un-salvageable. You can wait a couple weeks then make another attempt at dyeing your hair. It would be best to go with a color you believe will be dark enough to completely block out the wrong color. In the end though hair grows back and you can almost always fix your mistakes if you just keep a calm level head, and think it through.

A bad hair cut will grow back.

At some point or other, everyone has had a bad hair cut. Maybe you tried to cut it yourself, or maybe someone else cut it and got it wrong. Either way, keep in mind, HAIR GROWS BACK. Don't panic, don't freak—your hair will grow back like it never even happened. Some ways to deal with this until it does grow back though are to comb it in a way that makes the mistakes less noticeable, wear a hat or scarf, or just rock that look as if it was supposed to look like that. Usually if you act like there is nothing wrong with your hair and give the impression it was SUPPOSED to look that way, other people won't even notice. They will just assume it was the style you were going for.

In the end, it's all in how you deal with it.

If you are confident with your hair no matter what it looks like, it will go a long ways. People will think that you were going for that style on purpose, and you might even get a few unexpected compliments. If you believe it looks good and act like it looks good instead of acting like you are embarrassed by it or acting like you hate it other people will think it looks good. In the end, it really is all about how you deal with a bad hair day. And a bad hair day definitely doesn't mean it will be a bad day.
