Is this the price of beauty?

What won’t we see in this Nigeria? After seeing this video, I knew I couldn’t see it alone. I knew I had to share it with you guys. I didn’t even know what to name this post because every single title I wrote just became too long.

What is there to say about this video that can be condensed into one title? It is just…you have to see it for yourself.

With the evolution of fashion and hair, especially black hair, black women now have a limitless amount of options when it comes to picking what hairstyle they want to wear. However, some hairstyles only work in music videos and red carpets. They don’t work when you’re jumping okada (bike) in Lagos, Nigeria.

The below video shows a woman wearing a hairstyle that is very very VERY long. Remember that Beyonce video where she’s standing with the long hair? It’s like that’s the picture the woman took to the hairstylist and told to make her.

Beyonce long hair.

Sorry for her though, she lives in Nigeria and can you believe what happened next? Are you already seeing it in your mind? Well, come and see what happened! Let’s go.

The Video:

On the initial video posted by Káyọ̀dé Ògúndámisí, he captioned the post: “The price some of our ladies have to pay to look good and we still don't give them enough credit.

As you can see, the video shows a young woman on bike wearing extremely long braids that unfortunately for her were too long that they got tangled with the the motorcycle’s back tyre. It’s the kind of thing you think could happen but never actually happens.

As you can imagine, Nigerians where quick to come in with their responses.

One person said:

Buh she ought to have packed that, and secure the distal end with an elastic band.

Another responded to it saying:

All of you saying the hair is too long yen yen yen. What if you are stranded in the bush and your car needs towing? You know sometimes you could find a car willing to tow but no rope. Periods like this is when you will value are long hair. No mind them good girl...

While some others had no time for play or games, and went straight to:

SO NOBODY COULD USE SCISSORS TO CUT THE HAIR, NIGERIANS ARE REALLY PATIENT WITH SOME SITUATIONS

This whole thing is just preposterous and hilarious. What would you do if you encountered a situation like this on the road? Did you even think something like this was actually possible outside of Nigerian comedy movies?

I’d really like to hear what you guys think about the matter. Let me know by leaving a comment on the Facebook post. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter. At least, we’ve seen the unbelievable today!

That’s All.
