They choose you!
Tattoos, have more significance
At times you may feel that you have the power to choose your tattoo; and the for the most part you are correct, however in my case 3 out 4 of my tattoos chose me. Yes, you read that correctly, my tattoos chose me. The 3 tattoos I am referring, to are a tribal peacocks feather, a tribal black widow, and a wolf in a dreamcatcher. It’s always that adrenaline rush when you’re about to get new ink. It’s EXHILIRATING! Let me take it back to when I got my peacocks feather. It was something about feathers that was trending at the time, and of course I felt the need to follow suit, but I felt the need to be original. Feathers can be very dainty and elegant, which is fine, but I wanted something a little more edgy. I figured hey let’s get something tribal, very minimal not to flashy. Saw the perfect image on google and knew right away that was it. Now where I got my tattoo, was the inside of someone’s garage. Now before you judge, it was quite sanitary okay! He used fresh needles and I felt confident that he knew what he was doing. Now it had been about 3-4 years since I had a tattoo, and this would be considered my 2nd tattoo so I was nervous. Needless to say, my tattoo turned out great.
Shortly after my peacocks feather I decided to get another tattoo. This time it was the black widow. You’re probably wondering a BLACK WIDOW! I said the very same thing. In all honesty it was truly a need a snickers moment because even I was astonished by that decision. Truth be told I had just got of a toxic “situationship”! Yes! “Situationship”, and I was determined to find any excuse to rid myself of any energy tied to that situation. At the time Iggy Azaelia had “Black Widow” on the radio and it gave me the momentum to get this tattoo. So again, I went to the same guy in the garage, spent another $50 bucks on the tattoo. BAM!!! Truthfully it is one of my most complimented tattoos I have to this very day.
My latest tattoo, which is my favorite is my wolf. Now I’ll start by saying no I did not get this tattoo done in a garage, and no I did not spend $50 dollars, I spent $30, just kidding. I actually spent $200 dollars, and it was well worth every penny. It had been at least 4 years since I had a new tattoo, and it was getting closer to my 28th birthday, so I wanted something significant. I figured a tattoo of a wolf, but not just a wolf, a wolf in a dreamcatcher! My friend at that time had her cousin who had a shop was the person who got me together. Although this is my most detailed and most expensive tattoo yet, I seem to get more compliments on the spider… I know you probably have a confused look on your face as well.
Going back to my statement earlier on how my tattoos chose me. Well most tattoos have some significance. Each time I thought I had an idea of the significance, but as the years progressed I soon realized there was more than meets the eye. This year has been a very trying year, and we have managed to make the best out of it considering the circumstances. Now at the start of this year I was dating someone, and naturally it’s the honeymoon phase. We hit things off fairly quickly, but COVID-19 happened. Now you’re probably wondering, your story isn’t anything different. Well I can tell you that it was a blessing in disguise. Those tattoos were actually my spirit guides. Little did I know that not only was I about to go through a spiritual awakening, but there was more meaning behind those tattoos.
