Apart from permanent ways of getting rid of your hair like laser IPL, laser and electrolysis, there are temporary ways of removing hair that some of you might be comfortable with. For those who have not yet chosen the hair removal method that suits them the best yet, it can be quite overwhelming with the wide variety of choices available in abundance in the market. Removal of hair is a choice that exerts a different influence from person to person, some may think it is not a wise option in the first place. Some people can actually find it suitable and helpful. There are quite a number of hair removal methods that you can consider but also a bunch of conventional hair removal methods that are tried and tested and you can choose to try them keeping your needs, your skin type and the pros and cons of the method in mind.

Shaving

Shaving involves the practice of using a cream based lubricant on the skin area you need to shave and then using a razor with blades that remove your hair. Shaving can be quick and an easy experience. There indeed are a few cons of shaving, one for the fact that when your hair grows back it can be pretty rough and prickly and you might also get irritated skin post shaving. Many people of experience claim that hair grows back faster and thicker with shaving. For hygiene reasons, you need to use fresh blades every time you shave; you can get razor heads, cutters and replacement screens from shopify alternatives.

Depilatory creams

Depilatory creams are the holy grail of people who want to get rid of hair off their sensitive skin. You apply it, wait for the instructed time and then wash off with water after using a plastic scraper to remove hair. With depilatory creams, hair grows back within a week’s time. They consist of chemicals that break down the hair structure within a specified time. Therefore, a patch test is highly recommended before you go for it. Depilatory creams are simpler to be used on large areas to shave like arms and legs as it would be hard work to remove hair off such areas with other methods.

Waxing

Waxing involves the stipping of hair off skin from root after the application of a wax with a strip of paper or sheet. One of the pros of waxing is that it keeps regrowth of hair away for a good while. The cons, it can be painful for the moment and also that you will have to let your hair grow long enough so the wax can pull it out. Overtime, people who wax observed that hair on the body has thinned and regrowth takes longer time.

Tweezing and Threading

With a pair of tweezers you can pluck out unwanted hair all by yourself from the convenience of your home. It can hurt a little bit but not as much as it does with waxing. Tweezing works best if you want to remove hair from smaller areas of your body. Like waxing, it takes a while for regrowth of hair from tweezing since hair is pulled out from the roots. Threading is a good choice to consider if you want to shape your eyebrows. Similar to tweezing, threading works best on smaller parts of the body like on the face; although unlike tweezing, threading is difficult to do all by yourself. Hence if you choose to thread, it is highly advisable to visit a salon and get it done by a professional.

While opting for a hair removal method, choose one that will suit your skin type and your needs, do keep the pros and cons of the method in consideration and do a patch test wherever necessary to steer clear of mishaps.
