The innocent- naive look has been raging all over social media for 2018; however, sometimes snap clips aren’t all a girl needs to give herself that girl next door appeal. However, makeup has the power to age people! For that reason, proper application of makeup can impact the aesthetic one may be going for.
I am 30 years old, and ever since I was 12, I have struggled with acne. My skin has always been a mess, even during times when most people's’ skin seemed to calm down. When I started to get into my 20s, I assumed that the acne would subside, but no, I wasn’t that lucky.
Since my freshman year of high school, I have been dealing with some rough acne. I ate well, I drank TONS of water, but nothing seemed to cure the platter of whiteheads, blackheads, and bright red pimples that were on my face and body. But four years of self-esteem issues and anxiety over my skin have come to an end in the last three months.
I know the struggle all too well. The bridge of my nose would be flaky at the same time pimples would be cropping up on my forehead from my forehead being too oily. Around I went in the vicious skincare cycle, adding astringents and drying agents to my face to get rid of the pimples and then adding oils to my face for the dry spots. It's a never-ending battle for people who have both skin types.
A beauty fad that has actually been around for quite a long time is creating a facial mask made of poop or using a poop infused soap. In fact, poop facials have been used in Japanese culture for centuries by geisha and many other beauty-focused individuals to keep their skin looking radiant and fresh. Some of these masks rarely have human feces in them, but some do contain human feces.
Growing up, and being one of those girls that loved to experiment with makeup, I definitely went through my fair share of picking wrong foundation shades. To add on to the agonizing thought of having my face be orange and my neck be white, I could never achieve such a flawless-looking base that we all desire. Through less time than I'd actually like to admit doing research, I was able to come up with seven simple ways that have major impacts in your foundation application.
Face. There, I said it. I shave my face. I know a lot of you are worrying, won’t the hair grow back thicker? Won’t it grow back darker? What if I get a rash? I know. There are so many questions and several things to consider with shaving your face. It isn’t really considered "the norm" for a female to shave their face, is it? You must think… well, there must be reasons for that. But no, there isn’t really.
Taking care of your skin is a major investment that pays off in dividends later on in life. This is why skincare is a billion-dollar industry, and why so many models insist on daily cleansers, exfoliants, and moisturizers.
Meaningless notifications from the Linkedin app led me to my girlfriends profile; A beautiful black woman. After 10 seconds of scrolling the news feed, then 20 seconds of adding random people with cool pics, and titles, I see her. I had never seen this picture, and I was filled with a weird anxious feeling. I get like this whenever she posts pictures on Social Media, which is rare. Her popping up on my feed, is like an Easter Egg in a Marvel movie, or actually seeing a unicorn walk down the street. Its always a rare sighting, and I'm always freaked out for some reason. I texted her to tell her how beautiful the picture was, and how I felt seeing it, and then some more compliments; that I hope she enjoyed as well. I closed the apps, and went back to listening to The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi on YouTube.
Okay, let's be honest. Acne sucks. Whether you're just starting to get it or have been dealing with it for 9 years, it sucks, and you're probably like me and want rid of it.
You did not come here to read a whole introduction paragraph about how a natural anti-aging beauty routine is the best way (even though it is), and the time is ticking! None of us are getting any younger and we need to act fast; let’s jump right into it. I’ve tested these all out for myself. They're all effective, and these three are definitely my favorite. All very easy to make and to apply.
I know that when I was growing up I really struggled with the idea of being able to cover the redness that constantly appeared on my face, no matter the situation.
