Best Perfume for a Night Party

Everyone wants to be the most attractive at a party. You can put on the most fashionable outfit, wear the highest heels, do glamorous makeup, wear the most expensive diamonds, and still, your look will be incomplete without a good perfume. Wearing the best perfume for a night party is the key to standing out in a pool of well-dressed people. But do you find that your scent fades away only an hour into the party? Well, it's because you are applying it the wrong way. Yes, there are dos and don’ts even for perfume! You need to make sure your perfume lasts long and is not just a fond memory. If your perfume cannot survive through all the dancing and drinking till the end of the night, then what even is the point? Who wants to be stinky in the end when it's time to hug everyone goodbye?

Here are some secret tips and tricks to offer to make your perfume last all night long:

Spray perfume on skin AND clothes

Just putting on some perfume on your skin won’t do. Your skin can’t hold on to the scent for long. Because of your sweating and body heat, fragrances tend to dissipate fast when applied to your skin. Unlike skin, clothes retain the perfume’s scent for much longer. This is why after spraying some perfume on your skin, spray it on your clothes if you want the scent to last all night.

Always apply right after a shower

Studies show that the perfect time to apply perfume is right after one takes a shower. This is because dampness provides your perfume with something to cling to. So spraying your trademark fragrance on after you've just cleaned your body will help it last longer and keep you smelling great throughout the party.

Body oil/ointment is the way to go

Rub in any ointment or body oil on the areas of your body where you apply perfume right before spraying the scent. If you apply the balm to your skin instead of spraying it on dry skin, the aroma will last longer and give your skin a glow. Additionally, because oily skin retains scents longer, hydrated skin will aid in the scent's retention. If you have an almost finished bottle of perfume, you can pour the final few drops into an odourless oil and apply it to specific locations.

Layer up perfume with other fragranced products

Combining a set of heavily scented products, such as a shower gel, moisturiser, and perfume will assist your fragrance to remain longer. It will work even better if all the products you use have a complimentary fragrance. If the scents are too contradictory to each other then it can end up making you smell like a mess.

Don’t forget the pulse points

Since fragrance responds well to heat, dabbing it on your pulse points might help you stay scented all day. You should apply perfume to the nape of your neck, scruff of your knees, the insides of your forearm and wrists. Also, make sure to not make the mistake of rubbing your wrists together! The aroma of the perfume may evaporate faster due to friction, and your fragrance will not stay as long.

Never store your perfumes in the washroom

Don’t ruin the quality of your perfume by keeping it in your washroom! Warm temperature, sunlight, and moisture will degrade the perfume, reducing the quality and intensity of the scent. Instead, keep your perfume in a cold, dry spot, such as a dressing table drawer.

Sprintz some perfume on your comb/hairbrush

Your body isn’t the only thing that should smell good, your hair should also have a refreshing scent. But obviously spraying alcohol-based perfume directly on your hair can severely damage it. The best way is to spritz some on your hairbrush or comb and run it through your hair. This way your hair will also have a light and refreshing scent all party.

Cotton balls can be your best friend

Sprinkle some of your perfume on cotton balls and keep it safely inside a small plastic container and carry it with you to the party. Whenever you feel like your scent is wearing out, rub on the moist and scented cotton balls on your pulse areas and above your ears. You can never smell bad if you have handy cotton balls!
