People Are Going Nuts Over Olaplex At-Home Treatment - Try Now!
Olaplex Home Treatment
The Olaplex brand was created by Craig Hawker, the founder of Halo Beauty Pty Ltd. The company started when Craig saw that many women were coloring their hair with permanent dye to cover up gray hairs. However, the chemical compounds used in this process are damaging to the hair. He eventually came across an ingredient called "Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate" which he thought could be helpful in counteracting some of these issues.
Olaplex 0, Olaplex 3, and Olaplex 8 are the innovative bond multipliers and rebuilding treatments. It works after bleaching and coloring by helping rebuild broken disulphide bonds which can become weakened when chemical treatments such as bleaching and dying are performed on the hair. Disulphide bonds help hold the hair together and when they are weakened, the hair becomes more porous and damage can occur.
Some of you who have had a keratin treatment done or a relaxer might have experienced a strengthening of your hair after those treatments as hydrogen bonds were reformed. Hydrogen bonds hold the hair strands together similar to disulphide bonds but sulphur atoms are present instead. Olaplex works on both of these bonding systems by providing free sulphurs to form new links across broken disulphide linkages .
Why Olaplex Has Become So Popular?
The reason why this product has become so popular is because many people who color their hair end up with over processed, dry damaged hair that breaks off easily. This is mainly due to using excessive heat during styling and damage from hairdryers and straighteners. This is especially the case for those with fine hair as it can become so dry and damaged even after one use of bleach and a toner! Hairdressers also complain about clients coming back to them after coloring their hair at home complaining of damage but what they don't realize is that you cannot compete with the expertise of hairdressers who are using Olaplex 3.
The first product was initially used by colour technicians in salons to help rebuild bonds between newly applied colour molecules but it has since grown into a range of products including Olaplex 0, Olaplex 3, and Olaplex 8 which all work at different levels depending on your needs. No 3 is aimed at people who have healthy hair that only require 'maintenance' whereas Olaplex 8 is for people who have fragile hair and require intense repair.
Olaplex As An Application
In terms of application, Olaplex's patented technology makes use of the free sulphur atoms from its bis-aminopropyl trioxysilane molecule which is the 'crossover molecule' which is able to penetrate inside the hair strand. Once it has penetrated, it creates new disulphide linkages across broken sulphur bonds in the hair. This helps rebuild the hair strands and reduces breakage. I have noticed that my bleached ends now recover much faster when they are rubbed/brushed against each other as they no longer snap off!
What does Olaplex does to your hair?
Bonding agent for your hair. It finds weak links in your hair such as broken bonds and then mends them back together. This makes your hair more manageable, stronger, shinier and reduces damage. Without Olaplex the only way to repair broken bonds is cut off damaged section of the strand or colour it away.
The reason Olaplex No.0, Olaplex No. 3, and Olaplex No.8 came about was because a hairdresser couldn't finish a colour process without his client losing some strands every time he had to use bleach on her hair due to breakage from chemical treatments . Thus Olaplex started with these two guys going around trying to find a miracle solution which they did. Eventually creating a product that doesn't just stop breakage but actually repairs the strand permanently .
