Mompreneur and Influencer Mrs. LaTruth Releases Self Love Empowerment Journal In efforts to Teach Social Media How To Practice Self Love During Covid 19 Pandemic

Mrs. LaTruth, born Briana Hampton in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, is a popular social media influencer with more than a 5 million following– 1.2 million on Facebook alone. She was raised in Southfield, Michigan where she relocated with her mother at the age of 5, and now lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, LaTruth. Widely known for posting skits with LaTruth in which she pranks him, praises him, and provides a beautiful insight into their marriage, Mrs. LaTruth is also a model, a published author, and a “mompreneur.” Her rise to notoriety started with modeling. Mrs. LaTruth has always loved shopping, trying on clothes, and photographing herself in new and stylish outfits. She began posting some of her pictures on her social media accounts and soon many of them went viral. Eventually, she and her husband LaTruth met and became an internet sensation for the skits they would record and post online. More than just a social media icon, Mrs. LaTruth is also the successful owner of two business enterprises: Klassy Queens, a premiere line of women’s wigs, and Mrs. LaTruth Boutique & Dance Studio, a one-of-a-kind dance studio, and clothing store.

Keeping up with her millions of followers, creating and posting fun and meaningful content for social media, and running two successful businesses have motivated Mrs. LaTruth to look for even more outlets for her creative talents. She is also a published author. This year her first book, The Self Love Is The Best Love Empowerment Journal, was published. Staying true to form, Mrs. LaTruth’s book aims to encourage, uplift, and inspire women to love themselves and prioritize their own personal growth journey. Mrs. LaTruth believes that women feeling empowered shouldn’t simply be a current trend that eventually disappears, but a new normal. It is a rarity today to hear women speak about their own journey of self-love. When we do see a story about it, it is often a romanticized version created by Hollywood that lacks truth and substance. The Self Love Journal challenges its readers to think critically about their current way of life and how (if at all) they prioritize their mental health and their self-love journey. It also encourages readers to think more about loving themselves and creating a healthy growing environment for themselves.

Currently, Mrs. LaTruth is now working on creating and releasing new skits that continue to educate and uplift Queens everywhere. She is also preparing for a promotional book tour for The Self Love Journal. Never one to be complacent with what she has already achieved. She hopes to use her businesses to host self-love brunches and women’s empowerment events, providing a launchpad for other women who hope to become successful in their own life journeys.

Tammy Reese:

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Mrs. LaTruth:

I was working in healthcare before I met my husband. I love helping people. Prior to meeting my husband, my mom died from brain & bone cancer. My mom lost all of her hair and nothing could make her feel beautiful and I felt completely helpless until I learned about human hair wigs. That was the last time I saw a smile on my mom's face. When I met my husband he pushed me to my fullest potential by being supportive and asking me what I wanted to do besides working in healthcare and he would help me by investing in my first business which was Klassy Queens. Klassy Queens provides human hair wigs whether it’s full lace or lace fronts I just wanted to help women who are not so confident because of hair loss become confident and happy again.

Tammy Reese:

How did becoming an author come about?

Mrs. LaTruth:

On my platforms Facebook & Instagram I’m always promoting self-love and empowering women to make it a priority. After going live and making videos about it I figured I should make a book about it so that even when I’m not constantly speaking about it on my platforms they still have something to look back on to inspire and impact them. Self Love is NOT a TREND & I want to make it one. Not only do women lack self-love but men do too. Self-love isn’t talked about as much as it should be. I spent 4 days writing my book from day to night all while being a mom of four.

Tammy Reese:

Please tell me about your book The Self Love Is The Best Love Empowerment Journal?

Mrs. LaTruth:

My Self Love Empowerment Journal is a project I created to encourage, uplift, and inspire women to love themselves and prioritize their personal growth journey. In today's world, there are not many women who embody empowerment outside of it being a theme or trend. It is rare to hear women speak about their true journey of self-love. This journal challenges our readers to critically think of the current ways their life is prioritizing their mental health and self-love journey (or lack thereof) while stimulating further thought on how to love yourself first and create a healthy growing environment for your future self.

Tammy Reese:

How has life been as a mompreneur during the pandemic?

Mrs. LaTruth:

Whew! Being a mom during the pandemic has been a huge adjustment. I have learned to prioritize and compromise through all of the changes we have had from schools closing to schools opening to things shutting down. It has definitely been a learning experience.

Tammy Reese:

What feedback do you receive from the work that you do?

Mrs. LaTruth:

I have received so many positive messages about my book and the videos I do on my platform to encourage and impact. I am so proud to be able to uplift and encourage women. It truly makes my day when I see a message that says “ because of you I didn’t give up”. It makes me want to go even harder for my Queens because we need each other to bring each other up not tear each other down.

Tammy Reese:

What are you currently working on?

Mrs. LaTruth:

Currently, I am working on opening my boutique & dance Studio. I am also working on my second book which is a children’s workbook regarding self-love. In 2021 I am starting my book tour so stay tuned for those dates.

Tammy Reese:

What from 2020 will you take into the new year?

Mrs. LaTruth:

The things I will take from 2020 is just to take control and even when things seem like it’s going wrong to push harder and don’t give up. I could have let covid run me but I decided to run covid. It’s so many obstacles that will come your way but we gotta push through them to get to where we want to be or truly accomplish.

Tammy Reese:

What are you looking forward to in the coming year?

Mrs. LaTruth:

I am looking forward to doing Women's conferences, my book tour, and meet and greets at colleges or high schools to spread more knowledge about self-love.

Tammy Reese:

What else can we be on the lookout for from you?

Mrs. LaTruth:

I am writing my children’s workbook for ages 6-12 regarding self-love and I can’t wait to see children express themselves and learn all about self-love. I will continue to put out positive and impactful videos on my platform and continue to make self love a trend.

Tammy Reese:

What do you want your legacy to look like?

Mrs. LaTruth:

I want to be remembered as impactful and inspiring. I want to be remembered as the woman who made self-love a priority for men and women.

Tammy Reese:

What advice would you have for anyone who would like to build their social media platform to uplift and empower?

Mrs. LaTruth:

My advice is to be yourself and don’t change who you are because society or social media wants you to. Be who you want to be and not what someone else wants you to be. You don’t have to follow the trends of being negative. You can be different and inspiring to become known. Never give up, keep pushing, and you will succeed.
