Olaplex is a hair product line that aims to solve the problem of breakage and damage to your hair. Hair can be damaged by lots of different things like chemical processes (bleaching, coloring) and heat damages (blow drying, curling irons, straightening irons).

The Olaplex products work as a bond multiplier; they help rebuild broken disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair and make them stronger than before you used any chemicals or treatments on your hair. The triple component system consists out of initial treatment Olaplex 0 and Olaplex 3, which should be applied before using any chemical or heat treatment on your hair! The third part is Olaplex 8 "moisture mask which can be used as a once a week treatment and which you should apply on clean and fresh hair.

What is the difference between Olaplex 0 and Olaplex 3?

Olaplex 0 and Olaplex 3 are the first and second step of this 3 steps treatment system. Olaplez 0 is intended to be used before any chemical treatment (and for people with very damaged hair) and can be applied to wet or dry hair, while Olaplex 3 should only be used after your hair has been colored or bleached because it makes the color last longer and stronger.

What does "bond multiplier" mean?

It means that what you apply to your hair before using chemicals or heat treatments will make these procedures a lot healthier for your hair! It's basically something that rebuilds broken disulfide sulfur bonds in your hair by adding extra electrons creating a much stronger bond than before. Doing so it will make your hair a lot stronger and therefore less likely to break.

Does it work with all types of hair?

Yes, Olaplex works for everyone! If you have colored, highlighted or bleached hair this is the ultimate solution for you because Olaplex rebuilds the broken bonds in your hair making it much healthier, stronger and shinier than before! But even if are not having any chemical treatments on your hair the bond multiplier system still makes sense because it can help protect your hair from future damages!

How long does one treatment last?

One treatment lasts about 10-15 minutes. The time you need to let Olaplex sit on your head depends on how damaged your hair is. Before applying Olaplex on your hair you have to wash your hair with the included shampoo which is only used once, after that you let Olaplex sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing it out. After rinsing out Olaplex you should use the conditioner which is also used only one time because this will help seal in all the oleic acid contained in Olaplex.

The recommended application frequency of Olaplex is 2-3 times a week, but actually, everybody has their own opinion of how often they want to use it! Over time using it more frequently can make your color last longer and stronger every time you do so.

How long does an Olaplex treatment take?

The whole process takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how damaged your hair is, but following the recommended application frequency (2-3 times a week) it will definitely not take you more than 1 hour per week!

How to use Olaplex correctly?

When using Olaplex for the first time make sure you do not apply too much shampoo. The best way to apply Olaplex no.0, Olaplex no.3, and Olaplex no.8 is to squeeze out an amount that looks like half a dime-size and then start rubbing into wet hair. If you have very dark or colored hair we recommend not using too much shampoo because it can be a bit difficult to rinse out and in that case, you might just use two half dime size amounts.
