Dying to Change Your Look? Here Are Some Fresh Styles to Try!

With how crazy this year has been you might be dying for some good change. The summer has crept up quickly on us than ever before (I've been watching too much of The Crown to know what day it is aha). So with hair salons gradually opening back up again, here are some looks to bring to your stylist!

Piecey Bangs

If you couldn't wait for things to open back up again and tried to cut your own bangs, this is a great look to help fix it if it didn't look the way you hoped! But take precaution before picking to wear this style. While bangs look good on all face shapes, your hair texture ultimately determines how they will look. For example for those that have a cowlick, you don't want to get short bangs. If your hair is prone to frizziness, you definitely don't want to have short bangs during the summer because humidity will cause them to frizz.

When you go to your stylist, you'll both need to talk to figure out the best bangs style for you and if the choppy look would be the best fit for your texture.

Side-Swept Bangs

Here is another option if you have a self-done quarantine bang look you need fixin'. Bangs in general are expected to become the look of the year as a popular request in salons is expected to be due to fixing self-done bang looks and other at-home haircuts.

This style allows those looking to grow out their DIY fringe to do so in a way that's manageable and not super obvious. And just like the piecey bangs, the side-swept style looks great on all face shapes!

Shag Haircuts

Yes, the choppy, layered hairstyle from the '70s is making a comeback!

Shag haircuts are a great way to add texture, volume, and depth to your style. Modern shag haircuts add some edge to your look and moves any hairstyle to the next level.

A shag is fantastic in any length: short shaggy hairstyles are extremely sassy and sexy, with a medium shag haircut you are easily getting on-trend disheveled styles, while long shag haircuts are famous for their incredible all-over layers.

Shags are equally good on fine and thick, curly and straight hair. Curly shag haircuts are especially great to settle recalcitrant frizz.

Lob Hair Cuts

Want your hairstylist to pick up the shears, but are nervous about going too short? Lobs are short, sophisticated, and surprisingly low maintenance. No matter your natural hair texture, a chin-length chop will accentuate your jawline while shaving minutes off your getting-ready routine.

Bob Hair Cuts

This is a shorter version of the Lob seen above, it's also a low-maintenance and versatile style that will be sure to elevate your summer 2020 look. Not only is a bob super chic, it's a universally flattering style, no matter your face shape.

Modern bob haircuts feature a couple of innovations such as my favorite: shaggy bob haircuts and layered bob hairstyles. If the thought of lobbing off the majority of your locks fills you with dread (you're not alone), know that there are a tons of different ways you can rock the style, and it doesn't even have to be super short.

Pixie

After cutting your hair into a pixie, you might find your sense of style totally changed. Shorter hair may call for statement earrings, bold makeup choices, and more daring fashion choices. This is a great way to stand out with a very low maintenance haircut that won't make you overheat in the summer! Rest assured, you will never have to worry about this look going out of style any time soon.
