Do You Struggle With Acne As An Adult?

I did, and my skin hasn’t been the same since I started this routine

There’s a popular misconception that acne only happens in your teen years, or that acne comes from a lack of poor hygiene.

Unfortunately for the people who suffer from acne, those things aren’t true.

I’ve suffered from adult acne all of my adult life, and it’s annoying as hell. It’s also painful. People don’t get it, but that’s not our fault.

Here are a few things that helped me clear mine up, and no, I’m not selling you anything.

Dr. Bronner’s

Dr. Bronner’s is a soap brand, and it’s been around for a very long time (my great-grandma used this stuff…), and it works.

Here’s a link, you can get it on Amazon. (My links aren’t affiliate links, I’m not making money off of them)

It’s cheap, and one bottle will last you for over a year.

Check it out here!

You can find it at Walmart and Target, too, but it’s cheaper on Amazon.

One tiny drop will lather up your entire face, and it’s peppermint soap, so it tingles and brings a rush of cold, but then you can feel the clean feeling right away.

I’ve been using this for a long time, and it has seriously saved my skin. Along with the three other things I use, I swear by this stuff.

It also works to take off thick makeup, or waterproof makeup. One drop, wash your makeup off and then wash your face with it after.

And by one drop, I mean one literal drop. You don’t need to squirt this shit all over your face. Rub your hands together for a few seconds and you’ll get a generous lather.

Love it.

Thayers Witch Hazel Toner

This brand isn’t quite as stringent as others, and it doesn’t burn my face. I also like to use Clinique’s clarifying lotion (a type of toner, not actual lotion) in a pinch or when I run out of Thayers.

You can buy some here!

I usually get the rose petal scent with aloe vera, it tones down the smell, and it’s alcohol-free so it doesn’t feel like acid.

It gets out whatever is leftover from washing my face, but usually, Dr. Bronner’s gets everything out. It also works wonders on blackheads.

Vitamin E Oil

I get a small bottle of Vitamin E oil from Walmart, and after using the wash and toner at night, I lather my face up with Vitamin E oil. It feels gooey, yes, and it’s shiny… but I swear, you’ll wake up with the clearest, softest skin.

My skin feels like a baby’s ass in the morning after masking up with this stuff.

It’s like $3 at Walmart, in a little green bottle with a yellow lid.

You could really get any brand you want, just make sure it’s pure oil. I don’t get the kind that has a bunch of other shit in it.

Rub it in really well, and ignore the slimy feel. Your skin will thank you in a big way.

St Ives Face Cream

I use this in the morning because Vitamin E oil is so sticky, I can’t go about my day looking a mess.

I also use this for nights I’m having sex because if I don’t my wife will end up with oil all over her face.

It’s a solid moisturizer, and it’s really light and fresh. It has a great smell, too. It’s not overpowering, but it smells clean. You can buy some here.

It makes my skin very soft.

If I’m in a pinch, or I wake up with a massive zit, I use Neutrogena’s on-the-spot acne treatment, but my routine usually keeps breakouts to a minimum. I rarely have them anymore!

If you’re on a budget but you’re really struggling with acne, I’d give my routine a shot. All of the items cost under 25$ total, and they’ll last a really long time.
