Beauty and personal care are definitely some of women interests that are very important. After all, the way a person looks and feels can break or make her self-esteem. To live a good life, one must be as confident as possible. Skincare is one of the things known to help you maintain a certain glow that can help you be more comfortable in yourself. When you look good, you feel good and it always show on your face. However, you must look into what you are putting on your skin. You must know what they can do and what they are going to do for you. To help you out, here are some of the things that you might want to avoid when buying skincare products.

Phthalates

One of the things that are important to avoid when it comes to skincare is solvents used as plasticizers that can usually be found in nail polishes, hair products, fragrances, and anything else that needs artificial fragrance. You need to make sure that the skincare that you are going to use will not have any of them. This is because it dramatically affects a person’s endocrine level to an alarming state. It can also affect the reproductive system, bringing abnormalities to it. Thus, you should look at the label and check for this specific ingredient. By doing so, you will reduce the risk of the side effects that it can bring you.

Triclosan

This is a known preservative and has been found in a lot of antibacterial products such as toothpaste, soaps, deodorants, and more. It is said that prolonged exposure to this specific material can contribute to resistance against antibiotics. You might want to consider this so that you will not have to deal with the after-effects. Resistance to antibiotics is a very big deal since most of the bacterial infection to the body are cured with antibiotics. You want to make sure that you will not be having any of that problems in the future.

Formaldehyde

This specific chemical can irritate your nose, eyes, skin, and even your respiratory tract, so you would want to reduce your exposure to it. Small amounts of this product are generally allowed in cosmetics but are primarily found in tonics used in nail polishes. Would you want to use the same thing that is in nail polishes on your skin, especially your face? If you can avoid using products that have this, you would want to do that. After all, your health should always come first above anything else.

Diethanolamine

This is a chemical used in making products foamy or creamy but can be irritating to the eyes and the skin. It can also become carcinogenic, so you should look out for this. Carcinogenic materials can bring you to have cancer or develop it in the long run of things. It is typically abbreviated as DEA on labels, so you should keep alert when looking at the ingredients list of the products you use. Being cautious is one of the best things you can do to help yourself out, not just today but also in the future.

Parabens

Most people have probably heard of this as they have been widely used in several personal and cosmetic products; methylparaben being the most popular of all. However, it has been found to cause issues in the body, specifically on the endocrine. You would want to avoid this ingredient in your products as much as you can so that you would not have to worry about the side effects. It is most likely suitable for everyone. Everyone can try it.
