And I appreciate their thought behind combining the secrets of Ayurveda with science but If possible, try creating some natural face packs at home. And trust me, even I follow that same thing. But it's important to understand what exactly Ayurveda stands for?

When does "Ayurveda" stands for?

The word Ayurveda has been derived from the Sanskrit words, Ayur and Veda in which Ayur stands for life and Veda stands for science or knowledge. Therefore, Ayurveda is about the knowledge of life through the natural system of medicine. This was originated in India more than 3000 years ago. Ayurveda is often called the “Mother of All Healing" and stems from the ancient Vedic culture.

In Ayurveda, your skin has been categorized into four types- VATA SKIN, PITTA SKIN, AND VAPPA SKIN.

VATA SKIN

In modern-day skin which is known as dry skin is called VATA SKIN in Ayurveda. This skin refers to dry, thin, delicate, and finely pored so if you have such issues, you fall under this category. Vata skin is prone to symptoms like early aging which is made worse by mental stress and lack of sleep.

PITTA SKIN

Someone who is fair, warm, and of medium thickness, falls under PITTA SKIN. you are blessed with a slightly rosy or golden glow but only when your skin is delicate. Other features of your skin are pink or reddish complexion with a lot of freckles or moles and your skin is highly sensitive to the sun therefore make sure you put on your cap or hat or even sunscreen before stepping out of your house. Women or men who are planning to go for some tanning treatments make sure you cancel all your appointments your skin is not in the favour of that.

KAPHA SKIN

If your skin is prone to issues like clogging, you belong to the KAPHA SKIN club. This skin type is thick, oily, soft and cool to the touch. Your skin type is whitish and you glow a lot. Because you face issues like clogging, therefore, you require more cleansing bars or facewash on your shelf compared to others. Therefore, including greasy creams shouldn't be part of your regime. Hence, you shouldn't pick anything face wash from any brand. It's important to know your skin.

TIPS FOR VATA SKIN

People who are prone to VATA SKIN must go for gentle cleansers so that you don’t over-dry or strip your skin. After cleansing your skin, make sure you moisturize it to maintain its hydration. You can go with coconut, almond, sesame, and olive oils along with shea butter and honey. For better protection, wear scarves, hats, and gloves.

Cleansing recipe for Vata skin:

Combine 1 tsp almond powder, 1/2 tsp whole milk or coconut milk, and create a thin paste and apply it evenly on your face. This pack requires zero scrubbings. Wash your face with warm water and wipe off.

Now, it's time to nourish your skin. For that, you will be needing

1 tsp almond oil, 1-2 drops lavender or chamomile essential oil, and 5-6 drops water. Then combine and massage this combination on your face as well as on neck Gently massage onto face and neck and leave on.

Tips for Pittas:

Avoid chemical-filled products that can aggravate and excite your skin. Go for natural as well as pure products which are made with plant-based extracts.

Look for coconut, sunflower, grape seed, licorice root, lavender, rose, and tea tree in your skincare if looking for calm and balance hydration. Using soothing herbs like neem, sandalwood, and thyme is also a good idea.

Moisturizing recipe for pitta skin:

Combine 1 tsp jojoba oil and 1-2 drops of geranium essential oil and gently massage this pack on face and neck and leave on.

KAPPA SKIN

Tips for you:

People with Kappa Skin should wash their skin thoroughly especially at night before bed. Never go to bed with your makeup on. Think about your pores! Another essential point to remember is, overly drying your skin is something that should be avoided as it can cause a rebound oily effect. Instead, gentle cleansers and alternate for deep cleaning and exfoliation are what you should include in your skincare regime.

Choose moisturizers that are light but nourishing. Choose invigorating herbs like rosemary, yarrow, peppermint, geranium, citrus (lemon and orange), and sesame.

Cleansing recipe for Kapha skin:

Combine 1/2 tsp honey and 1/2 tsp lemon juice together and apply it on the face and wash off.

Nourishing recipe for Kapha skin:

Combine 1/2 tsp sesame oil, 1-2 drops of lemongrass essential oil, and 3-4 drops of water together and apply this pack on the face and neck area and leave it on.

SCRUBS

VATA: SEA SALT + OIL

People who belong to Vata Skin must use a scrub that consists sea salt and oil. For making this scrub, you need to add 2 tsp fine sea salt with oil. Combine all the ingredients together and apply in a circular motion to your face before rinsing off with warm water.

PITTA: OATMEAL + WATER

Combine 2 tsp finely ground oatmeal and water together to make a paste. Let the mixture stand for about a minute to thicken it up a bit before applying it to your face in circular motions. Rinse off with warm water.

KAPHA: CORNMEAL + HONEY

2 tsp cornmeal with enough raw honey to make a paste and apply in circular motions to your face. Lastly, Rinse off with warm water.

MASKS

VATA: BANANA OR HONEY

For making a mash you will be needing half a banana in mashed-up form or apply raw honey to your face. Let it stay on your face for about 10 minutes and wipe it with a warm, damp cloth.

PITTA: AVOCADO + FRESH CREAM

Take an Avocado and fresh cream and to make a paste you need to mash an avocado and mix in some fresh cream. After that, apply it to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Lastly, clean your face with the help of a damp and warm cloth.

KAPHA: APPLESAUCE

Apply plain applesauce without any added sugar to your face and leave it on for 5 minutes. Clean your face with the help of a warm and damp cloth.

But there are people who have no time to make these remedies and follow them religiously, due to their hectic schedule therefore I have come up with one of the best Indian skincare brands on whom you can trust, that too blindly.
