Need a cure-all for those difficult discrepancies in your skin? Looking for the perfect at home remedy for dry hair? Well, you've come to the right place! Taking on a new skin care routine can be intimidating at times, but not when you have these five items in your kick-ass bathroom toolkit.

1. Tea Tree Oil (a.k.a. "The Cure-All Oil")

You may be asking yourself, how can an essential oil help my skincare routine? It's simple, tea tree oil can aid in helping clear up persistent acne spots, blemishes, dry skin, rashes, scalp issues, and razor burn (even in those hard to reach places)! Not only does it conquer those issues but it can also be used as a natural deodorant and cold remedy. It performs these feats of magic through the use of Terpinen-4-ol, an active ingredient found in tea tree. Terpinen-4-ol has been found to help kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi, which is why tea tree works so well for getting rid of acne. Mix your tea tree oil into your lotion or face masks to see wonderful results within days of using this product. So treat yourself to this $5 bottle of magic on your next trip to Wal-Mart or Target!

2. Egg White Masks

Whether you mix it with honey or lemon juice, avocado or turmeric... egg white masks are a cheap and natural alternative to spending your whole paycheck on expensive, non-reliant commercial face masks. Egg whites contain protein, potassium, riboflavin, and magnesium. It's these ingredients that will help with the revitalization of your skin. Egg whites repair tissue damage, hydrate, moisturize, and reduce the size of enlarged pores on the face. Plus, it's a natural and easy way to keep your skin feeling smooth, clean, and healthy. So feel free to mix up a DIY face mask next time your in the kitchen.

3. Activated Charcoal

Have a bit of fun with trying out an alternative teeth-whitening product for cheap, or create your own DIY face mask with some activated charcoal! Although you can't light your barbeque with this charcoal, there are still hundreds of different uses for activated charcoal. Activated charcoal can whiten your teeth by acting as an absorption agent, absorbing plaque and other types of teeth-staining compounds. Activated charcoal can also be used in DIY face masks because of its exfoliating properties and its ability to calm irritated skin. This is a cheap must have that you can pick up at any Wal-Mart or Target from $3–$10.

4. Witch Hazel

Although this sounds like some ingredient used in a witch's cauldron or a Harry Potter cocktail, Witch Hazel is in fact meant for the skin! Witch Hazel is made from the leaves and the bark of Hamamelis virginiana, a flowering plant that can be found in North America, Japan, and China. Witch Hazel can help in many different ways, ranging from helping with inflammation, skin irritation, scalp troubles, acne problems, puffy eyes, oily skin, and much more. Witch Hazel acts as a toner that can be applied to the face to help with many of these problems. It's also a cleanser that can help remove makeup and keep your skin clean and oil/dirt free. You can pick up Witch Hazel on Amazon, or at Wal-Mart or Target. It's also another cheap option for skin care, only costing about $3.

I know it's a mistrusting world of advertisements after advertisements out there and that we are all constantly being pushed to buy the brand new expensive skin care regimes, but if you have a couple spare bucks or you are a college kid like me, these products can make all the difference in your health and beauty routine.
