Why You Should Live Stream

So you are a content creator and want to grow your fan base and reach more people but do not know where to start. Connecting with people and building relationships is the most important part of influencing others and sharing your creations with strangers. This sounds way easier than it may be though, so don't worry if it takes some time to build a following. If you want to have strangers come back to you and view more of your content you are going to need to connect with them and add value to their life. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people are selfish and don't want to help others. Knowing this we can build a strategy around helping people and make them feel like it is all about them.

However, in the world of 2021 how are your possibaly going to connect with people. With a constant growing online presences and the constant noise of all the other creators how are you going to stand out? The internet is a noisy place with lots of content and distractions. As technology and social media become more and more prevelant it seems like human connection is slowly dwindling. There has to be a way to stop this. We were created to be relational and build friendships with other humans. Why does this seem to be constantly be growing harder and harder to do. I think as creatives we forget to think about how we can help others and solely focus on the fact people aren't paying attention to us. We think that if we create it the world will just show up and support us. However, that is far from the truth. People need a reason to come and won't just show up out of thin air to give us praise and love. We all want to make a connection and feel wanted. It is the root of our pride and we tend to search for our value in others validation.

Let's talk about how we can achieve this level of connection with others. I think a great way to build a following and get closer is do live Q&A's on social media. You can also showcase your newest creation during a livesteam. This can be a great way to connect with your fans. Take advantage of this form of media by opening up the floor for questions, thank people by name for joining and even allow others to join you in the livestream to ask questions and join the conversation. The more your viewers feel like they are apart of something special the more likely they will want to support you and join you on your journey to wherever your end destination may be. Don't just expect people to follow you, you must add value to their life and give them a reason to want to be around you.

Make content reguarly. If you want to stay top of mind you need to be in people's feed every day. We as humans are developing very short attention spans and need constant reminders if we are to remember anything. Make content that is meaningful and rememberable. Social media platforms are built around getting people to stay on for as long as possible so if you create content people want to like and share the platforms will reward you by pushing your content to more people.

Lastly, I want to encourage you to not find your identity in your posts or following. As you create content remember to do it because you love it not because you want to become famous or rich. Be genuine and love others. If you want to be happy and healthy you need to find joy in the small things and look for ways to disconect everyonce in a while from the toxic world of social media.
