Today I did a talk show with Hassan Al-J Burton, and once again he was so amazing. He shared his insight of why music is so imporant, and his personal expereinces.

He mentions that music touches people, helps people get out of funks, and can make people feel again. This is true music does help people get out of funks. When we are sad, need extra oomph, and while we are doing our housework. Music is amazing. My own personal experience was when I crushed my left hand in a machine, and could not use it. I was no longer able to play guitar, and that inspired me to use the keyboard so I could still write songs. Music is a true inspiration.

Al-J says that music is a beat. You can feel the beat, your heart beats, and brings movement. Music becomes you. When you get up in the morning, brushing your teeth, getting ready for work or going out, and through the day.

I applaud Al-J because he is does honestly become his music through the beat, rhythm, songs, and to the movement of the songs. He is inspiring, never stops, keeps writing his music, while sharing his talents to many people. This talented artist shines in and out. Another thing he does not mention is the struggle of becoming artists, while continueing to push forward. He shows his eagerness, strength, and resillance since the late 1980's. Working on his 16th album. He has videos in big cities like LA, New York, and Boston.

If anyone lives in the Boston or Cambridge area his 16th album debut at the Middle East Cafe, Cambridge, MA June 26th, 2023. Their music can be heard on Spotify, and Youtube. Check them out. I put a few songs on my talk show CTS Cheryl's Talk Show https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cheryl-a-nocera/episodes/Todays-Episode-is-about-Music--Why-Is-It-So-Important--and-What-Are-the-Benefits-e24q6nq.

So what is the importance of music, and the health benefits? Like Al-J mentions it gets us through tough times. When we are feeling down, to remind us of something, to enlighten our energy, and lets face it we all workout to music. We have that song that gets us bumping. If a child is crying we sing songs like, If You're Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands. Music does keep us energized, and feeling alive. Here are some of other examples: Music jump starts your creativity, recalls memory from long ago, listen to your body while listening to music, John Hopkins Medicine, Keep Your Brain Young with Music found on (2023 May 29).

Antoher reason to listen to music, according to Peralta, Lia, How Does Music Affect Society from Save the MusicAt the core of our everyday experience with music, we use it to relax, express ourselves, come to terms with our emotions, and generally improve our well-being. It has evolved into a tool for healing and self-expression, often dictating how we, as individuals, take steps to impact society (2021 November 3) This is so true music does help our mental state. So Let's keep the music playing.

One more cool thing I would like to mention regarding music, it has three of the 9 multiple intelligences. First, Verbal-linguistic, next Logical-Mathematical, and final Musical-rhythmic. What are multiple intelligences? According to Gardner, Howard, The theory claims that human beings have different ways in which they process data, each being independent (2021 May 4). This is true everyone does not think the same. Some of us like puzzles, some of like to read books, and others have to be moving all the time. You can check out a free multiple intelligence test online at https://testyourself.psychtests.com/testid/3103.
