It's the biggest event in battle rap and it comes around every year in the summer. It's the eleventh year of URL TV's Summer Madness and it takes Place in Houston Texas. Its the company's first big stage event back since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 202o. It takes place in Houston, Texas this year. Its also the same places where N.O.M.E's (Night Of Main Events) eight, nine, and Summer Impact took place. Summer Impact was a more popularized version of URL's Double Impact that was comprised of battle raps biggest stars. Those events were a huge success drawing huge crowds. Even Houston stars such as J Prince Jr were in attendance.

At all three of those events the Crowds were energetic, appreciative, and ready for the battles. Those nights were legendary for battle rap, as I'm sure this September, will be no different.

"This is a Smack battle nah mean son" Smack said to HipHop Is Real and 15 Minutes Of Fame Media out side of the Summer Madness XI face offs. "I'm just glad to see these two legends in the culture finally have that talk" Smack said giving his opinion on the battle. "I had to make Murda Mook vs Reed Dollaz happen for the culture. This convo aint for everybody, nah mean, this is old head talk".

SMACK is definitely right about this being a "SMACK" battle and not a "URL" battle. Murda Mook vs Reed Dollaz started brewing back in 2007 when Murda Mook battled Philadelphia native Young Hot in New York.

"They even said you can battle Reed Dollaz/ I said sure for that 25k I said no problem/As soon as it was time for him to sign that sheet/ask any body in his City we couldn't find him for a week/We was on every n***** line in Philly, his management, his mans and s*** EA's, Tech Nine's, Gillies/ When we finally get a hold of him to sort out all of the litigation, We like we need a answer shorty you got n****s waiting/ He said my answers no, its not because I'm scared its because I'm saying I don't want to f*** up my situation/I got a independent deal Mook I'm trying to make a hit/I'm trying to get on "Click", I don't wanna hear that s***

From that verse on the rivalry was born. Mook then went on to mention Reed Dollaz in freestyles on the "Lion's Den" a battle rap series hosted by Loaded Lux in 2008. The rivalry then died down, for a couple of years, but picked back up recently over the Spring early Summer when Cassidy announced he was starting a battle rap league. Both Murda Mook and Reed Dollaz are team captains in Cassidy's league.

Cassidy's new league had a lot of battle rappers meeting in his home in Atlanta. 15 Minutes Of Fame and HipHop Is Real Media covered a vast majority of the interviews. While there Reed Dollaz and Murda Mook had the opportunity to go down memory lane, and even rebuild the rivalry that they once had. All of this lead to SMACK booking the battle that most of us long time battle rap fans wanted to see.

This will be a great battle. I think both Emcee's have something to prove to theirselves and their cities. Mook considers himself undefeated against most Philly emcee's and Reed considers himself undefeated against most New York emcee's. They are both pioneers in battle rap and both are legends. My personal prediction will be Murda Mook 2-1. Mook is definitely a tactical rapper. He combines punchlines and real life. He also uses angles to defuse his opponents.

Reed is very entertaining and he has a "talk to you" type a style as we call it in battle rap. He has punchlines, and he can perform very well. A lot of people say that Reed Dollaz along with his Philadelphia natives originated that aggressive/gun talk style of battle rap. It will be interesting to see what type of direction he takes when battling Murda Mook.

Based off their last one on one battles, Murda Mook definitely has a advantage. In my opinion he clearly beat Tay Roc 3-0, some people have it 2-1. Reed's last battle was against Tsu Surf which was a debatable battle. Some people feel he lost and some people feel that he won. I personally think Reed won that battle 2-1. Taking the 1st and 3rd rounds.

Although my opinion is in favor of Murda Mook to win this battle it is definitely one for the ages. Everyone isn't a fan of this being a headlining battle for this years Summer Madness, but I'm ok with it because this battle isn't for everyone. As SMACK said in his interview "This is a SMACK battle, and it's for those fans from that era" I will definitely watch and enjoy this battle. No matter who wins, it will be remembered for years to come!
