Top 5 Acts to Check at Sea You Festival

From its birth in 2014, German festival Sea You ‘Beach Republic’ sells out each year and has a crowd that comes from all over the world.

It has a special scenic lakeside location in Tunisee, just outside Freiburg, overlooking the iconic Black Forest - and with powerful sound systems across all stages, a stage on the water, a fashion and beauty lounge, three nights of camping and the opportunity for festival-goers to take part in a variety of watersports on the lake for free, the scenery provides a blissful backdrop to a weekend of both relaxation and indulgence. International artists who work festivals such as "Burning Man" or "Coachella Festival" will be decking the place out along with theatre figures, dancers and decoration in the style of a white beachclub to bring a weekend of Ibiza worthy partying to the sunny banks of Lake Tunisee.

This year’s edition takes place on 18th and 19th July 2010, with seven stages again featuring some of the scene’s foremost house and techno talents.

The Festival boasts an incredible international lineup of over 100 artists including house and techno talents Boris Brejcha, Claptone, Giorgia Angiuli (live), Kid Simius, Kobosil, Lexy & K-Paul (live), Marika Rossa, Mausio, Monika Kruse, Neelix, Paul Kalkbrenner (live) and Reinier Zonneveld (live) already announced in the first wave of acts.

Check out our top 5 picks of unmissable acts to see this year -

Reinier Zonneveld

The Filth on Acid label boss is on fire right now. He serves up brain frying techno that is frazzled, futuristic and laced with wild 303 lines. As a DJ he is all about high impact sounds and getting your full attention, be that with a red hot new tune or a stone cold classic. Get involved.

Claptone

This deep house shaman always draws on a wide range of sounds but unites them with a sense of soul and melody. He has a hardcore following of fans and has his own Masquerade events and always pulls some special tricks out of his magic bag of beats. Do not miss.

Kobosil

One of Berghain’s newer recruits, Kobosil is a resident at the club and also releases on their in house label. He has a dark, heavy sound that is driven by linear drums and finished with thundering synths. Overdriven percussion and wild machine sounds will be the order of the day for his set, which will get heads down and people marching on the spot for the duration.

Monika Kruse

The Terminal M label boss is a pioneering queen of techno darkness. She can go from minimal to maximal and back again with style and ease and draws on a range of sounds that are both old and new. She has long been a tastemaker and is a leading lady when it comes to techno.

Paul Kalkbrenner

German artist Paul Kalkbrenner is a techno giant from Berlin with decades of experience and releases on several labels. He is well known around the world for his huge shows, unique sets, and always serves up a spellbinding performance. Expect big rolling drum lines and cosmic synths that take you on a real trip.

With so many top quality acts to see and the opportunity to dance both in and on the water at Germany’s largest beach club, this year’s edition is not to be missed.

Sea You Beach Republic takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of July 2020, in Tunisee, just outside Freiburg in Germany. Keep an eye out for more exciting lineup information to be released in the coming months.
