If you listen to hard rock and you've never heard of Breaking Benjamin, what have you been doing with your life? These guys have been producing head-banging beats since 2001. This is a list of ten songs recorded and released by Breaking Benjamin that, in my opinion, are under-appreciated.

10. "Dear Agony" from 'Dear Agony'

Although this song was a single released from the 2009 album Dear Agony, I still believe it doesn't get as much praise as the other singles from the album ("I Will Not Bow" and "Give Me A Sign"). This album was the first Breaking Benjamin album that Benjamin Burnley, lead singer, had recorded sober, as he previously had an alcohol addiction. This song perfectly embodies the emotions of what Benjamin was going through during this time.

9. "Sugarcoat" from 'Saturate'

This album itself is so underrated, let alone the song. Breaking Benjamin's debut album, Saturate, released in 2002, did not gain as much popularity as their second studio album. However, it holds a special place in my heart. The song "Sugarcoat" is the definition of variety; the verses are melodic and soft, slowly building up in the pre-chorus and then going out with a bang with the heavy, scream-laden chorus. It almost slaps you in the face and fills you with energy. It makes the perfect moshing tune.

8. "Rain" from 'We Are Not Alone'

This song is so different from Breaking Benjamin's usual heavy style. Being the last track on their 2004 album, We Are Not Alone, "Rain" is the perfect way to end an album. It's the rainbow after the rain and the quiet after the storm. The acoustic guitar and Benjamin Burnley's pure, raw vocals paired together make this the band's best ballad.

7. "Until the End" from 'Phobia'

No Breaking Benjamin album depicts Benjamin Burnley's thoughts more than this one. Released in 2006, this album contained their hit song, "Diary of Jane," which topped charts worldwide. However, in the shadow of the chart-topping song is "Until the End" with its powerful lyrics and melodic vocals. It's one of the best composed and produced songs they've released by far.

6. "Had Enough" from 'Phobia'

Another brilliant song from Phobia, "Had Enough" tells the story of a dysfunctional relationship, and man, is it angry. Clearly somebody did the writer of this song wrong, because both of the lyrics and music are drenched in pure, hot rage.

5. "Breaking the Silence" from 'Dark Before Dawn'

Song number five comes from Breaking Benjamin's latest released album (not including Ember, which comes out this year). I feel like some of the older fans were disappointed when Dark Before Dawn came out because they felt that the band had ditched their old style, but "Breaking the Silence" proves that they've kept their signature style alive.

4. "Follow" from 'We Are Not Alone'

I have no clue what it is about this song, but dang, it's my favorite from We Are Not Alone. "Follow" has every element that makes Breaking Benjamin's songs so great; heavy verses and a catchy chorus. Fantastic song.

3. "Medicate" from 'Saturate'

Although "Medicate" has some bizarre lyric choices, its upbeat and catchy chorus is sure to have you singing along to it after a few listens. The voice filter in the verses is ominous and mysterious, and Benjamin's powerful vocal strength can be heard towards the end of the song.

2. "Simple Design" from 'We Are Not Alone'

I take it back when I said "Follow" was my favorite track from this album; "Simple Design" is my favorite by a landslide. My friend got me hooked to this song when he played it in the car. When I saw them live, I was very thrilled to find out that they tend to play this song quite often at shows.

Definitely worth a listen...or ten.

1. "Evil Angel" from 'Phobia'

If the cool song title isn't enough to get you hooked to this song, listening to it will for sure have you addicted. "Evil Angel" is haunting, beautiful, poetic, and so much more. I have no idea what Benjamin was trying to say when he wrote this, but I adore the lyrics, vocals, and music all so much!

Thank you so much for giving this a read! Your support means a lot! :)
