Top 10 Best Albums

Just my opinion, so chill. But, if you haven’t heard of these albums, I recommend you check them out with an open mind!

#1 Spot (Michael Jackson’s ‘Off the Wall’)

To start off, I would like to say this is just my opinion and that music is a very subjective art form, so everyone has their own top ten, and this is my top ten albums from #10 to #1 based off of how the music reaches me through my mind, body, and soul. And I would also like to state that I do have a wide taste for music that includes many genres that go from classical to pop to hip-hop/rap and even techno, etc., so I hope some of you can find something new to enjoy out of these ten amazing albums.

#10 'Behaviour' by Pet Shop Boys

This album as a whole takes you on a vibe into your mind and into your spirit and beyond. The first song starts off with a beautiful falsetto with magnificent instrumentation that will make you feel as if you are in the middle of nature. This entire album is an experience and feels like you are being put in the flow of a river that is music.

#9 'Demon Days' by Gorillaz

This album is a classic and is one of the most creative/innovative albums I have ever heard. With the music videos that bring an experience as if you are watching a movie, and how the songs tie in together, it's incredible! If you aren’t willing to listen to the whole album, I strongly recommend checking out the "Feel Good Inc" and "El Mañana" music videos and listen to "Dare" as well (might as well check out the music video for that one, too).

#8 'Forever, Michael' by Michael Jackson

This is one of his underrated albums, and I think the reason why is because this was when he was signed to Motown Records, so it was a different sound from when he was signed to Epic Records, when he was able to have more creative freedom and put in many different genres on those albums. But, still, it is one of the best Motown Records I’ve ever heard, and it was recorded when he was still a teenager. It starts off with a song called “We’re Almost There” (which is weird because literally the next album is when Michael reaches international stardom with Off the Wall); this song delivers great vocals and a great performance as well. Then the songs carry out to all have great production and vocal delivery, especially on the ballad called “One Day In Your Life”; this is a song for all ages and all people and it holds an immense amount of passion. The whole album itself is like one giant story and ends off with a passionate song called “I’ll Come Home to You.” It is a well-dated album, but, for people who are open to music from all eras, I guarantee you will enjoy this one.

#7 'Cherry Bomb' by Tyler, the Creator

This is a HUGE transition in Tyler’s work from showing music that would hold a lot of anger and demented thoughts to happy, jazzy, soulful, and spiritual vibes. Although I do love all the music since Dinosaur EP (this includes Bastard, Golbin, Wolf, Flower Boy), I do enjoy more of the new Tyler than the old Tyler. I love seeing an artist break through their demons and be able to find their wings. This album carries inspirational/important messages in pretty much every song, and, if it doesn’t come through with a message (which I’m pretty sure it always comes through), it definitely comes through with the vibes! This is an album for all ages and all types of people. I strongly recommend this for anyone.

#6 'Nutcracker Suite' by Tchaikovsky

Although this isn’t necessarily an album, I consider it to be since it is a collection of many different pieces put together. This is a legendary album that literally anybody can enjoy as long as you are a patient listener. And with patience comes a great prize with this one. The instrumentation within every single moment of this is insanely genius and holds many classics throughout the entirety of the album. It is like you can actually see things or feel like you are in a story when listening to this; you can feel love, happiness, sadness, and the feeling of war and peace. It is just such a universal creation!

#5 'Blonde' by Frank Ocean

This. Is. A. Gaud. Daum. Experience. Whether you do psychedelics or not, it feels as if you are going through a trip in this album; it feels like you are reaching into your inner depths and learning about your mind and spirit with this album. It’s insane! The vibes Frank Ocean put in this are incredible, especially with songs like "Nights" and "White Ferrari" you will feel like you are on a MF road trip with the people you love making memories you will never forget. This instrumentation/production/vocal delivery/creativity/innovation that this album has is absolutely incredible. I feel like, if people give it a chance, then the entire population of the world can find themselves loving this album! Strongly recommend listening to this while tripping, but if you are sober that will still be a hell of an experience as well.

#4 '?' by Xxxtentacion

This is an incredible listen from the beginning to the end, very spiritual and relatable to people who feel alone with their mental problems. The vocal delivery on this album has been the only vocal delivery ever to remind me of someone who has the amount of extreme precision in their voice that Michael Jackson does in the albums Thriller and Off the Wall. Yet, he brings this precision to bring up a completely different vibe from those albums. There are bangers on this and heavy rock songs like “Floor 555” and “going down!” But the amount of variety and how he switches genres so frequently, in a great way, is mind-blowing to me. It is very sad that we lost such a talented individual who could’ve changed this industry/world for the better. RIP Xxxtentacion, and I know you will enjoy this album if you dive into it with an open mind. It's mind-blowing to me. #3 'Channel Orange' by Frank Ocean

This just has so many damn classics/hits on it that it’s not even funny. The vibes that are thrown with the songs that are hits—and the songs that aren’t—are incredibly legendary. The instrumentation/background noises are awesome, and the way it goes with the lyrics and the vocal delivery feels perfect. If you haven’t checked this album out, start-to-end, then you are living under a rock and need to check it out IMMEDIATELY! Like now. What are you doing? Go. Check it out!

#2 'Thriller' by Michael Jackson

When I first found out that the songs “Thriller,” “Beat It,” and “Billie Jean” were all on the same album, I was MIND BLOWN!!! I literally couldn’t believe it. I had to rub my eyes and double-check! This is where we get to the albums where I can listen to every song over and over again and listen to the album start to finish several times a day. You just keep finding new things every time you listen, and the production, talent, instrumentation, and genius caught in this album STILL hasn’t been matched to this day! Nobody has even come even fifty-percent close to this album except the man himself; it’s mindblowing. The vocal delivery in this is legendary; literally, every moment that there are vocals, it is so fierce and powerful you can literally feel his energy through the speakers; you can feel the love and the hidden pain and many more emotions. It’s unfathomable. And even if they were to not have any vocals, it’s the melodies/background melodies and the beats speak for themselves! It’s like the beat is telling a story of its own; it is incredible! You can visually see things come to life with this album, and, to me, that is really rare. No matter who you are, if you haven’t listened to this start-to-end and REALLY paid attention to what was going on with the music, you are just missing out!

#1 'Off the Wall' by Michael Jackson

Another album that I was surprised with the amount of hits/legendary songs that were on it! It literally has the best introduction song in all of the history of mankind with “Don’t Stop Til’ You Get Enough,” with a strong meaning of love-power and melodies that will keep you dancing all night! The vocals on this album are too amazing—like, too legendary, and sometimes overwhelming to hear so much precision and raw talent! To me, this is the "world peace" album, and I feel like all races, genders, ages, mentalities, and types of people can be brought together to love and dance to these songs! The instrumentation and the arrangement is mindblowing on every single song but notably on “Don’t Stop Til’ You Get Enough,” “Working Day and Night,” “Get On the Floor,” “Off the Wall,” and “I Can't Help It” (which was written by the legendary Stevie Wonder BTW). I strongly recommend for YOU to listen to this album start-to-end right after you are done reading this. Enjoy what world peace and pure love sound like, and spread the love to everybody you know and care about!!!
