and then there's Rock Music

The backdrop:

Rock music is a diverse genre of popular music that emerged in the early 1950s as "rock and roll" in the US and established into a variety of different styles in the 1960s and later, especially in the US and UK. It has its roots in rock and roll in the 1940s and 1950s, a style heavily drawn from the genres of blues, rhythm and blues, and country music.

Rock music also drew heavily from a variety of other genres such as electric blues and folk, incorporating elements from jazz, classical and other types of music. Musically, as a portion of a rock group with electric bass, drums, and one or more musicians, rock has focused on electric guitar. Rock is generally word-based music using a verse-chorus form with a 4/4-time signature, but the genre has become highly varied.

Indie rock is a rock music style that emerged in the 1970s in the US and UK. Originally used to define independent record labels, the word was connected with the songs they created and was originally used with alternative rock interchangeably.

As grunge and pop cult groups broke into the mainstream in the 1990s in the United States and Britpop groups in the United Kingdom, it began to be used to define those groups that maintained an outsider and underground view. Some indie rock groups started to experience business achievement in the 2000s as a consequence of modifications in the music industry and the increasing significance of the Internet, leading to issues about their meaning as a word.

In the mid-1980s, the word "indie" (or "indie pop") started to be used interchangeably with "rock pop rock" to define the music generated on punk and post-punk records. During the 1980s, some prominent indie rock record labels were established. Grunge bands came into the mainstream during the 1990s, and the word "alternative" left its initial counter-cultural significance.

The word "indie rock" was connected with the groups and genres that stayed committed to their autonomous status. Indie rock created several subgenres and related styles by the end of the 1990s, including lo-fi, noise pop, emo, slow core, post-rock, and math rock.

Changes in the music business and music technology in the 2000s allowed a new wave of indie rock bands to achieve mainline success. In the early 2000s, the mainstream appeared from a new group of bands that played a ripped-down, back-to-basic variant of guitar rock.

The word 'autonomous' indie rock defines the tiny and comparatively low-budget labels it is published on and the do-it-yourself approach of the groups and musicians concerned.

While distribution deals are often concluded with significant commercial firms, these labels and the groups they host have tried to maintain their autonomy, leaving them free to discover sounds, feelings and topics of restricted attraction to big, mainstream audiences.

Enter Mikey Hamptons and the Meows:

Mikey Hamptons & the Meows is a true rock experience that has been influenced by nothing but the best of the past and present in Rock Music.

The Meows feature a unique noise that could be described as a cross between Fuel and Ozzy. Although some of the music by The Beatles and The British Invasion are a definite donation of effect.

Rock music is something that everyone loves. Many artists make rock music but unfortunately, only some of them push a positive side. Mikey Hamptons and the Meows is considered as one of those bands who is leaving a positive impact on rock music.
