"One WAR", was his saying, Bob Marley didn't color especially being mixed himself

Bob Marley became a cultural icon by inspiring others to stand up to racism, inequality, and oppression around the world. He believed that world peace could be achieved by combining music, empowerment, and language. He was a revolutionary in the truest sense of the word. An assassination attempt was made on his life because of his powerful influence on Jamaican politics. His humble life inspired many, especially me!

Robert Nesta Marley OM was a Jamaican singer, composer, and musician who lived from February 6, 1945, to May 11, 1981. His musical career was distinguished by merging elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady, as well as his distinctive voice and compositional approach. He is considered one of the pioneers of reggae. For more than a decade, Marley's contributions to music expanded the awareness of Jamaican music around the world, and he became a global presence in popular culture. Marley became renowned as a Rastafari icon during the course of his career, and he blended spirituality into his music. He was also a supporter of marijuana legalization and a proponent of Pan-Africanism.

Spiritually in tune Marley moved crowds

Bob Marley was awarded the United Nations' Peace Medal of the Third World for his contributions to the fight for justice and peace in third-world countries. While Bob Marley's music did not directly stop the horrible war, it provided hope to millions of people around the world, not just in his native nation. Not only did his music play a huge role in keeping people together, but it also spread a true message of perseverance, hope, and love. Bob Marley is legend, and my personal music idol.

During his lifetime, Marley achieved several notable achievements, including serving as a global ambassador for reggae music, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, and selling over 20 million records, making him the first international superstar to emerge from the so-called Third World. A true icon, and idol to many, Bob Marley is the best artist that ever lived in my eyes and to this day he still inspires me, and I'm sure many more.

Marley began his professional musical career in 1963, after forming Bob Marley and the Wailers, in Nine Mile, British Jamaica. The Wailing Wailers' debut studio album, The Wailing Wailers, was released in 1965 and featured the track "One Love/People Get Ready," which became a worldwide hit and established the group as a rising reggae star. The Wailers went on to make eleven more studio albums, initially using louder instrumentation and singing, but in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the group began using rhythmic-based song structure, which coincided with the singer's conversion to Rastafari. During this time, Marley moved to London, and the Wailers released the album The Best of The Wailers, which symbolized their artistic transition (1971).

Marley died on May 11, 1981, after being diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma on his toenail in 1977. Fans from all over the world mourned his death, and he was given a state funeral in Jamaica. Legend, a greatest hits album published in 1984, went on to become the best-selling reggae album of all time. Marley is also one of the most successful musicians of all time, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide. He was posthumously decorated by Jamaica with a designated Order of Merit shortly after his death.

Before his death in 1981 at the age of 36, reggae legend Bob Marley had 11 children with seven different moms. He and his wife Rita Marley had three children together, and he adopted her two children from prior marriages. Marley, like other well-known singers, is supposed to have fathered more children than the 11 acknowledged by the late singer's estate, although such reports are mostly unproven. Bob Marley's children, like any other large family, have pursued a wide range of interests as adults. Some, such as Ziggy Marley, Marley's first son, have followed in his father's footsteps. Others have decided to stay out of the spotlight or to commemorate their father's legacy in different ways.
