The songs of Kelis

Kelis is cool! This article is about my favorite Kelis songs one is called “Bossy” and the one is “Caught out there”. Everyone knows the Milkshake song which is cool but there are other Kelis songs out there that are just as good. For instance the anthem for the female boss such as myself called “Bossy” you know something Beyonce ain’t exactly a queen b move over sweetheart Kelis is the real boss. There aren’t too many anthems like that that preach empowerment like the way Kelis owns it on Bossy. The video is cool it shows Kelis as the true boss that she is. Anyone who is a boss and has a poodle by her side is a real boss. As of the writing of this article I just heard a little bit of “Bossy” in a commercial for Instacart.

You know the first time I heard of Kelis she was this wild chick who sings in the chorus “I hate you so much right now” I would sometimes see the video early in the morning before going to school with my breakfast of a coca cola and a hot pocket. i was not expecting the chorus of “Caught out there” to be “I hate you so much right now” repeated I tell you that to me was refreshing. If memory serves me correctly “Caught out there” was originally released in the early 2000's.

She is a definite badass I mean she goes out with and has something going with Nas. The song that Kelis is most known for is “Milkshake” it has everything that a hot and sexy song truly needs including a hot and sexy music video to go with it. In truth and this is a compliment coming from me that this song is truly one of those guilty pleasure songs that people are always making lists about. Kelis is indeed a one of a kind original and that is why she has that right to proclaim herself as bossy.

Kelis I don’t know alot about her career but I do know for certain that Kelis has and will always be a definite original. She is an icon not only in music but also a Pop Culture icon. I tell you one sure way to know that you are a pop culture icon is when you have a question about you on Jeopardy like Kelis does due in part to the song “Milkshake”. I am not saying it is a bad song it isn’t it is a deliciously sexy and naughty song. Kelis in the “Caught out There” video appeared to be dressed like a lizard or amphibian and she is in a bathtub too. I love how “Caught out there” started out as a r and b and hip hop and fusion with hard rock when Kelis shouts the chorus “I hate you so much right now” and repeats it a couple of times in the chorus it was about time some female singer did a song like that. She always lets out a vicious and ferocious roar at the end of the chorus.

In the “Milkshake” song it has a middle eastern and Indian vibe that I love in the percussion and the way that the song moves. I bet her milkshake is delicious. With a song called “Milkshake” where else but a hot, steamy, and sexy diner would a music video such as this take place. If you thought that the scenes in the diner were sexy the scenes were just as sexy in the kitchen just saying. I can’t get over how hot she looked in those jeans.
