The Headliner Band

Q: Tell us a little bit about the band “The Headliner Band”? Who are the members?

The Headliner Band originated in Atlanta in 2017. Jordyn, JBass, and Eric did a going away party at the Piccadilly off of Old National Hwy, and said “let’s form a band!”.

Q: How long has the band been creating music together?

JBass and Eric have been creating music since 2007, in other bands and have produced records for other bands, and played on multiple albums. Charles “Big Saxy” Robinson and Eric Rose have been creating music together since 2013.

Q: Do you have a preferred genre?

The Inspiration for production could stem from J.Dilla to Donald Fagen , from Leon Russell to Quincy Jones, from Barry Gibb to Babyface.Our preferred genre was Neo-Soul, and some way we’ve navigated our way into jazz, and R & B.

Q: Tell us about your sound and what sets you apart?

Our sound literally comes from a potluck of influencers from, Marvin Gaye, D’Angelo, PJ Morton, Bosco, Eric Roberson, John Coltrane

Q: Do you write your own music, do you collaborate?

Yes we write our own music, from composition to the lyrics.

Q: Is “The Big Deal” your 1st album release?

“The Big Deal” is our debut album.

Q: Were there any challenging aspects to writing and/or recording the album?

Recording the album was a little strenuous due to the Covid-19 situation, studios were shut down, more than six people couldn’t be in a studio/facility at one time. Some of our band members are spread across the southeast having to travel two or more hours to Atlanta. That was difficult.

Q: In terms of the overall composition, do you have a favorite song on this album and why?

Yes - “Addicted II Love” (feat. AJ Woods) that song was the only song that EVERYONE was in the same studio when it was being laid. It had SO MUCH ENERGY.

Q: What song do fans seem to favor?

“Please Don’t Go” - seems to be the fan favorite.

Q: Which of your songs is, or do you think would be, fun to perform live?

"Coming II You” would be amazing live.

Q: Do you have any other plans relating to this release? A video?

Were planning a Midwest tour for this release.

Q: What would be your ideal press headline, either now or in the future? In which publication? Why?

Essence “music of the month”.

Q: Is there a message in your music?

Yes the transparency of feelings is the message in the music.

Q: Do you create music for yourself or for fans?

We want the music frequencies to keep your blood pressure low.

We honestly just want to support our families for years to come with our talents.

Instagram is definitely the easiest place to reach us. But follow us EVERYWHERE!

Q: Are you currently working on any projects we should look out for?

A live EP is coming.
