miLarKey is an emerging, talented, band from London on a mission to reinvent Indie Punk. Their music consists of a mash-up of indie rock, electronica and 70s punk influences.

Their guitars have been described as "swaggering" and by injecting some keyboards into their music, it gives a hint of electronica to their slightly filthy sound.

miLarKey admits to having a lot to say and clarifies that their songs are all written and performed from the heart - always with passion and raw energy.

I asked Christian Gaffney, founder of the band, to answer the following questions. Take a few minutes to read, listen and learn more about this talented band.

Side Note: "MerriamWebster.com notes that malarkey was one of their top lookups overnight, and defines the word as "foolish talk".

Why the name miLarKey?

I have always liked this word and it’s meaning of “Tom foolery” and thought it would make good band name when I formed the band. The word is purposely spelled incorrectly to make it our own.

Who is in the band & what instruments?

  • Christian Gaffney - Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards.
  • Andrew Green - Drums, Keyboards
  • Simon Green - Guitar
  • Lauren Grimonpont - Bass

My background research discovered: miLarKey was formed back in 2006 by the lead singer Christian Gaffney. The line up has gone through several changes but the essence of the band has remained the same. miLarKey's sound continues to be a hybrid of rock, punk and electronica.
