Alyssa Wong's "Good Enough" Turns Self Doubt into Confidence as she Begins Her Music Career.

Fourteen-year-old dancer, content creator and emerging recording artist Alyssa Wong is bringing a message of self-acceptance to her music with her new original single, “Good Enough,” dropping this Friday. Co-written by Wong, veteran songwriter and music executive Eric T. Johnson, and songwriter-producer Daniel Jacobson, professionally known as Danny Jay, the song explores the pressure to meet expectations while learning to recognize one’s own worth.

Known online as “Your Virtual Dance Bestie,” Wong has built an audience through her choreography, dance content and connection with young fans. With 234,000 Instagram followers and 124,000 TikTok followers, she is expanding her creative reach while opening up about the self-doubt that can exist behind a polished social media presence.

“For me, it’s always been passion over perfection,” Wong said. “I can be incredibly hard on myself and I’m always looking for what I could have done better. I’ve had to learn to block out the noise and remember that I’m doing this because I love it.”

“Good Enough” draws on those experiences, offering listeners a reminder that ambition and self-acceptance can coexist. For Wong, the song is an opportunity to connect beyond the dance floor and share a more personal side of her creative journey.

“People can see a polished version of you on social media, but they don’t always know what you’re going through behind the scenes,” she said. “I want someone to hear this song and relate to it. If I can keep going, I want them to feel like they can too.”

Helping guide Wong’s transition into recording is Johnson, founder and chief creative officer of N.I. Music Group. Johnson discovered Wong at the Passport to Discovery showcase in Orlando, Florida, where her stage presence, musical potential and established audience caught his attention.

“At 14 years old, she already has qualities you can’t manufacture — presence, work ethic, an audience that believes in her and an incredible ability to connect movement with music,” Johnson said when announcing their partnership.

Johnson’s background spans songwriting, artist development, recording and live performance. Before establishing N.I. Music Group, he performed as one-half of pop-rock duo SHYTOWN, which was discovered by music executive Dave Morris and signed to W.F. Leopold Management. His career includes thousands of performances across North America and Europe.

Together, Wong and N.I. Music Group are prioritizing long-term artist development, original material and a distinct artistic identity rather than rushing toward a major-label deal. Creative development for the project has spanned Florida and Los Angeles, bringing Wong’s experiences into collaboration with established songwriting and production talent.

Inspired by singer-songwriter and dancer Tate McRae, Wong envisions a career that combines emotionally honest music with dynamic choreography and visually compelling performances. Her long-term ambitions include international touring and stage productions that use music and movement to tell a cohesive story.

Collaboration remains central to that vision.

“I don’t look at other talented people as competition,” Wong said. “There’s room for everyone at the top. Being around people who are great at what they do pushes me to grow. You don’t always want to be the best person in the room. If you are, you’re probably in the wrong room.”

Wong’s interest in music also has roots at home. Her older sister, Vanessa Wong, appeared on “La Voz Kids” and “American Idol,” introducing Alyssa to the dedication involved in pursuing an entertainment career. Vanessa also helped develop the “Your Virtual Dance Bestie” identity that became part of Alyssa’s online presence.

With “Good Enough,” Wong is building on those influences while finding her own voice — and sharing a message that progress does not require perfection.
