Tay Keith, Rock in Power!

The superproducer's might will continue to reign through generations.

While details at the time of this writing remain murky in the death of Brytavius “Tay Keith” Chambers, producer extraordinaire, it seems the man could have died from poisoning. This is all alleged, so don’t take this as fact as specifics remain scarce until a toxicology report is finalized. At 29-years-of-age, Tay had already done what many his age had never even dreamed. He worked with Drake, Ye, Travis Scott, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Gunna, Lil’ Baby and a host of other talent. His record remained impeccable with the famous tag, “Hey Keith, f__ these n___ up!” and “too hard!” I don’t even have to pause.

This young man possessed a quiet demeanor and had been focused enough to earn a bachelor’s degree while still pursuing his music career. In fact, in the same week he graduated, he had a number single on the Billboard 100 with “Sicko.”

His output appeared tremendous and showed his depth and breadth. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Keith held a passion for music at an early age. He matched Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop” on his own equipment and mastered his own sound a decade later. An in demand producer, he was more than just a beat maker. He had been sought out by local acts and heavyweights alike. What could have claimed this young man’s life?

The alleged culprit could be whippets. These small cartridges whose proper use is in making chargers for whipped cream dispensers might be the reason why Keith is dead. Though it is still unclear whether this could be a cause for concern in his case, it may not be ruled out completely.

Tay Keith had money and fame that he earned. People often like to say they’d rather have Jesus than fortune and being known to the public. It appears as if Tay Keith wanted to just be a great creator and businessman in his endeavors. Never mind the whole idea about how gaining wealth and notability are somehow marginal at best and transgressions at worst. The same goes for degrees. Everyone like Tay Keith earns them and then is praised and then mocked when they achieve them. He grasped a double-edged sword.

With a laid-back sort of behavior, it should not surprise anyone to know that he could handle being a graduate and a superproducer all at the same time.

Once he took on the role of student to the classroom and the music world, everything took off for him. He possessed a bountiful amount of energy and this exuded through his music. By making sure the sonics came out just right, he positioned himself amongst other in-demand producers on the landscape.

He poured his soul into each and every project and ensured he could make the best sounds possible. His work ethic showed how committed he made himself out to be. As he traversed the universe of rap music, he stitched together beautiful, melodic, bass-heavy compositions that contended with no one but himself. He didn’t have to prove anything to anyone. He just stood on his own and made it possible for growth to happen in his life.

As he thrived professionally, allegedly, his personal life had been in tatters. He must have been struggling with the weight of addiction in addition to his plus-sized frame. What did it? Was it really the nitrous gas expelled by those little cartridges? Did he have a stroke or seizure? Things remain sketchy. But one thing is clear: the world is without another hip hop talent who should be shining and poised to pick up a golden gramophone. Sadly, that won’t happen for him. He could be honored but he won’t be around to pick up the award.
