Why Don McLean's Run Diana Run Is An Underrated Sinister Song
I’ve only ever known Don McLean just like a lot of other listeners just know him for his iconic song, American pie. I happen to be going through the rest of his Rearview Mirror album, and I saw very interestingly titled song called "Run Diana Run".

Twenty-twenty, what can I say in hindsight other than it was like we were all thrown into the cast of the wildest and most suspenseful live action film in all of human history. Sometimes it even seems like the last few centuries replayed, only within the span of a single year.
Danielle DeutschPublished 3 years ago in Beat10 Pop Hits That Made 2020 A Little Bit Better
2020 was a heck of a year for most people, truth be told it was unlike anything any of us had ever seen, for many people it was a year of solitude, uncertainty, and longing. For me it was the year I finished school, the year I started this blog, and the year I told my family that I’m a lesbian. While many found solidarity in the idea that everyone was also, to varying degrees, affected by the same force. Still, there were times when we had nowhere to turn but music. Today I’m sharing a playlist with you of 10 red hot bops that made 2020 a little bit better.

While 2020 has been a trying time for the majority of the world. The pandemic turned 2020 into a dumpster fire, but honestly, for me, it's been one of the luckiest years of my life.

When I thought about the music that got me through this crazy and surreal year 2020,I had to smile and even chuckle some. In my mind's eye I saw my 3-year-old grandson singing and dancing to PinkFong's "Baby Shark", Drakes "The Tootsie Slide", anything by Drake for that matter!, Brelands "Don't Touch my Truck", both Keshawns and Ricky Desktops version of "Chicken Wing", and Blanco Browns the "Git Up" to name his favorites!

I first heard the song "Being Alive"—from Stephen Sondheim's musical Company—when Adam Driver's character in Marriage Story, Charlie Barber, performs it at a piano bar. I didn't really connect with the song at the time, but the poignancy of this scene has stuck with me since I saw the film back in 2019.

2020 has been hard on every one of us, being alone in the middle of a global pandemic with no one to comfort or help us. Music served as one of our best friends helping us get through tough times, motivating us, and comforting us, no matter what the situation is. Quarantine allowed me to explore so many different artists and different genres of music, which I don't think I ever would have done in normal times.
Let's DiscussPublished 3 years ago in BeatThe Year of Soundtracks and Feelings
2020 started like every year for me, but before COVID came about and ran through everything like a knife through butter. I had feelings for someone, and things didn't work out, naturally, but that's okay. After my winter quarter, we had to do online classes, so since I haven't been working when I'm not doing school work, I've been indulging in some movies and shows that I missed out on.

I believe we can all safely say that this year has been a difficult one. Many things have helped me through the many lockdowns - Reading, binge watching shows and films I’ve put off watching, writing several screenplays, keeping in regular contact with loved ones and above all, Spotify.
Music I got into in 2020
2020 came in with so much hope and anticipation. I was thinking it was my year to work on so many things and in a way it was. There were some hills and valleys along the way and this is why my journey into music was quite odd. When you have time to yourself you start to venture off into things that you never thought you would. I'm glad I did because I don't think I would have ever checked out some of these artists.

The year 2020 came in with a ticking bomb that the people were not expecting. The damage that it brought with it spread in every single direction. This bomb that I am referring to was not your average bomb. When this bomb went off it carried a sickness that spread in every single direction. This year is heading out to make room for the new year to come in. When this year heads out it is leaving behind a great deal of damage. It is leaving behind one of the biggest trails of sadness that could be walked. This year is taking a great deal of loved and cherished people along with it.
Shelly BartleyPublished 3 years ago in BeatTHE SONGS I LISTEN TOO
I have had a love for music since I was a baby, I loved to dance and learned how dance and song go together. Yes, I loved to sing and dance to the music that was on the radio. I was dancing when I grew into a teenager too! I met my boyfriend and we went to school dances all the time. We were a couple who loved to dance and when we took the dance floor there was no one to top us! Growing up I was taught to like Rock And Roll of the 60s and 70s. Then the 80s came and the songs were very different. I grew to like certain songs and artists as I grew into my 30s. Then I can not say the 90s were any better if you like to listen to certain singers. Then there was the turn of the century and was a different type of music. I loved listing to many different songs when I could. One song artist I came to love is Lady GaGa, she has an incredible voice! Most of her songs I love to listen but one I really loved to listen to is Poker Face. To this day I could not get tired of hearing that song and Lady GaGa!s albums.
