Introduction In the seventies I was in a band called The Bok (that I have mentioned in other posts) and one day I went round to the band leader's house (Andy Marshall) and pulled out three albums wich really surprised me. This must have been 1975 or 1976 and my musical taste was still developing, and though Andy was a year older than me (I think) his tastes were more esoteric than mine on the time.

Rick Henry ChristopherPublished about a year ago in BeatRiver Studios Open mic 23rd of February
A new venture for me over the last couple of months has been to run a monthly open mic at River Studios. A local studio to me with a performance space. I thought it would be a great idea to do a little write-up of these events and also share the photos that are taken from the evening. I've also recently created a Facebook group for the event, so feel free to check that out if you are interested. Before I go any further I'd also like to thank all the artists that have played so far in the first couple of events. It has taken me a while to get everything set up how I'd like it. Of course, when you do something new, it will always take a while to build it up into what you want it to be. Hopefully, in the next few months, we will see some great open mic nights at River Studios to add to the huge list of open mics in Southampton.

According to the Guardian, Here Are the 5 Worst Afrobeats Remixes of Recent Times
We all know that remixes can either make or break a song. Then there are sometimes when a song gets a remix, and all everybody can ask is: why?

Last year was a great year for the re-emergence of concerts. People who love music were back to doing what they love the most: witnessing music live. It’s also been a time when fans remember why live music is important. Many artists who were forced to cancel their tours due to the pandemic have returned. The shows were spectacular, and we expect even bigger concerts in 2023.

From Amir Royale I’ve tasted toxicity. I’ve lusted after romance in a way that may have been unhealthy for a couple of years. I’ve misunderstood cues during intimacy before but have also had partners not reciprocate my passion or attention to detail. “Pruane” is about being in that center space between ‘DTF buddies’ and ‘soulmates.’ That unspoken sense of attachment intertwined with the minutiae of apathy. Somewhere smack in the middle of possessive and protective, sexual and sensual, in-love and out of it. We search for the love we think we deserve – and the people that are right for us; we often overlook or undervalue them. Maybe one day I’ll finally start getting all this stuff right. ‘Til then, I’m content sitting still. Walk good, take care. 🌺❤️🩹🌺
