Reading music is an essential skill for any musician, as it allows them to understand and perform written compositions. The process of reading music involves interpreting the symbols and memorandum set up on a distance of music in order to play the correct notes on an instrument. At its utmost introductory position, reading music involves understanding the layout of a distance of music, including the staff, clefs, and note values. The staff, which is the foundation of distance music, is made up of five vertical lines and four spaces, on which notes are placed.
Suresh NatarajanPublished about a year ago in BeatCatching up with UnknownWriter 21
I first interviewed UnknownWriter 21 just about a year ago when he released Okay Okay. He was very sincere, open and honest with his answers. Someone I would have liked to really sit and chat with, face to face, for quite some time. I was thrilled to have yet another opportunity to discover what he has been doing since. UnknownWriter 21 is from the Philly area. Immensely talented... he sings, he writes, he raps, plays the piano, and is a music engineer. He has worked with Disney’s Corbin Bleu from High School Musical and has performed as a hype man for an artist opening for DMX. He also had a successful debut hit, Can’t Breathe Without U, featuring R&B superstar Ne-Yo. Unknownwriter 21's sound is a mixture of R&B and Hip Hop with an emotional depth of mystery leaving you with a harmonic chill that winds through the soul but gives you a vision of a greater sight farther than what your eyes can attain in the moment. From Amir Royale I don't think I've ever really felt well-understood by my peers or mentors. Most my life I was outcasted for my passionate and exuberant outlook. "Phonics" was a way for me to define what that felt like — but, furthermore — showcase to others how to combat it. I've had this song sitting in a vault since before the pandemic. Thus, I recruited some of my favorite people in this whole wide world to share the stage for one of my last few "harder" stories to tell. Or, well — at least I think so. Declan Sheehy-Moss (a good friend of the next J. Dilla and Robert Glasper - Cisco Swank); as well as Sydney Kate Palmer (an NYU student of mine) both bring this so beautifully to life — and, I don't know — I just hope you finally get it one day. Maybe, just maybe — I even pray I'll still be here on Earth to know finally what it feels like. That's if God decides I'm lucky enough. I love and miss you all, always. Walk good, take care. 🌺❤️🩹🌺

Tammy ReesePublished about a year ago in BeatSome Kind of Monster (2004)
Thrash metal was a short-lived subgenre of heavy metal that was popular during the Reagan Era. It mixed the technical complexity of heavy metal arrangements with the speed and aggression of hardcore punk, which was the OTHER form of extreme music popular at the time. Most of the countless bands--Mortal Sin, Powermad, Exodus, and on and on--have long since faded into the oblivion of yesteryear, but FOUR of them went on to succeed beyond their wildest dreams: Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth (a band created by ex-Metallica guitarist Dave Mustaine), and the El Numero Uno, all-time champion bestsellers of the heavy metal genre, the rock icon behemoth known as METALLICA. A band that I grew up listening to from the first audiocassette tape I bought back in the Good Year 1989.
Interview With Maine Event Films Director and Actress, J.R. Fortin & Megan Salisbury
The biggest key to his success for the father, producer, actor, director, and writer, J.R. Fortin was being taught work ethic at a young age. Starting at 12 years old, every summer he was putting in full-time hours. Outside of the entertainment industry he's worked for the same company for 14 years and helps run operations for a Fortune 500 company. Tammy ReesePublished about a year ago in BeatA "Conspiracy" worth listening to.
September 2022, Mons Records released a new album from multi-award-winning saxophonist, composer, and arranger Tobias Hoffmann titled "Conspiracy." Under the motto, things just keep getting bigger, this recording follows his 2019 release “Retrospective” recorded with a nine piece band and this time features a full big band. Tobias stated that throughout his journey in music “… there have been two hearts beating in my chest: on the one hand that of the saxophone player and on the other that of the composer and arranger.” When you first listen to this recording it becomes clear that on “Conspiracy” Tobias has been able to merge these two hearts into one. (press release) "Conspiracy" has recently been named in Jack Bowers' Best Jazz Albums of 2022 (allaboutjazz.com)
