The songs I have picked are universal to any kind of witch you strive to be, whether it be mischievous, ethereal, or just wanting the vibes to match that you don't want to be messed with. Some of these songs have a lyrical context that I have found to be parallel to various elements. Some of these songs can stand along with their own message, I just happen to find a bit of a witch vibe in these tunes. Get your magic wand, get a glass of wine, and enjoy these songs for your witching hour.

1. Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga

Always got to go with GaGa for a first pick. Most of her songs from Born This Way and The Fame Monster have a dark and gritty aspect in lyrics, but Lady GaGa made that combination of dark material and many different combinations of opera, disco, and electro-industrial work well. The song is primarily about the twist on the idea of Bloody Mary, after being betrayed, finding her revenge since the man she's talking about is dead. I can imagine this being a witch's theme of lovelorn loss and a revenge that is bound to happen. The opera chorus is a nice touch for the ambiance of ambivalent revenge.

2. You Belong To Me by Cat Pierce

The pleas of devotion to the one and only, had a tweak to a witch proclaiming her love for this man she's in love with. When I heard the lyric, "I want to possess you" that had me thinking about a woman that will do anything at all to get this man. Desire has no bounds of limitations to get the man of their affections. Even if that means alternative way through anything. This song may not have anything to do with witchcraft, but the dark lyrics and undertone, it does feel like this is something a witch would listen to in the vies for a man that needs to be hers and hers alone. We all want a certain someone we desire to be ours, and a spell to cast. Even if this person who is the object of desire, has no idea what he's getting into, it's too late.

3. Soft Universe by Aurora

The way this song plays out, it feels like I'm casting spells with the ethereal rhythm. It's more of a song for witches that harbor in the forest, protecting what they love, wanting to understand the universe. A lot of Aurora songs have this vibe of a power in all of us or being in the vicinity that something powerful is near and we want understand it. Anytime I hear this song, I move my arms slowly and sway to the music as if I'm performing a ritual. Get your wand and play this song when you want to feel one with the unknown universe. It's even better playing this song when walking through a forest.

4. Black Sheep by Gin Wigmore

This gravely song may not have any magical or sinister overtone, and it's more themed to the idea of outcasts. That central idea aside, I do think this is a song a witch will have to include on her playlist since she is the outcast after all. I can see a witch jamming out to this song while she causes chaos to those that have crossed her. No matter what happens, she is who she is, no one can change that. It's a theme for all the women that do not care that they aren't in high regards or respect, the belittling individuals will just have to deal with it before a curse happens to ruin their life.

5. Kings by The Pierces

Back to the Pierces again, after mentioning Cat, I have to talk about the former duo band she did with her sister. This is a song about the willingness to fight for a better life despite the turmoil and tragedy. The music video already feels like a crossover between The 100 and Mad Max:Fury Road. It makes me feel about a witch going to war to protect her coven and provide a better way of living for everyone. It can be interpreted anyway in the lyrics and the vibe, it's what comes to mind when I'm dancing around to this song.
