Shy Gawdly- Hold Up

Shy Gawdly is one of the hottest new musical artists from Boston, Massachusetts. He was recently signed to Vybe Entertainment and has a lot of momentum built up from “On The Road” featuring Danny Towers and his newest single "Hold Up". The video for "On The Road" has over 100,000 YouTube views in just a few weeks and also over a quarter million Spotify streams since the release. The video for "Hold Up" is coming very soon and the hype already building around it seems like it is more anticipated than "On The Road".

“Hold Up” dropped on April 15th and is at around 50,000 Spotify Streams in just a few days after being released. With Chaz King’s and Major’s production of the beat, Shy Gawdly gives his listeners the catchy and melodic lyrics they keep coming back for. The beat is very uplifting and uptempo throughout the whole song. Vype Entertainment recently previewed the video for “Hold Up” on their Instagram. The video contains exotic women, exotic cars, tropical weather, and more. This snippet was only about 15 seconds and we already experienced all of this.

Shy has shown his talents repeatedly even in the past before he started working with Vybe Entertainment. With his video “Dangerous” and “Backwards” both being over 20,000 views on YouTube and his video “Suburbs” almost being at 15,000 views, Shy has been outdoing himself time and time again.

If I had to compare the song to another artist I would say Shy Gawdly brings an A Boogie vibe on this track but still has his own unique sound and style. Shy is the talk of Boston and seems like he could be the talk of every music fan very soon. After back to back hits with “On The Road” and “Hold Up” the momentum Shy has is huge! Shy is opening up for Danny Towers at the High Tolerance Tour in Florida hosted by Dj Scheme at the end of the month as well. Vybe Ent is on a hot streak and it does not seem like they are letting up anytime soon.

After “On The Road” being placed on Genius, Remixd Magazine and more. “Hold Up” has been posted by multiple media sources and is being picked up by a ton of others day by day. On top of all of these accomplishments Shy Gawdly recently landed his first ever radio play in Boston on Jamn 94.5 Platinum. This is the first ever radio play for Shy but surely will not be the last. If I had to predict, we will be hearing a lot of Shy Gawdly on radio stations everywhere within the next few months to a year.

With many hit records in his back pocket, Shy Gawdly can break into the major music industry at any moment. Shy has already started influencing other Boston artists' styles. Soon to be influencing people and artists all around the world. Shy has the capability to not only write but freestyle over a melodic beat, something not many people are able to do.

Overall, in my opinion I love the song. I would not change a thing about it, but if I had to choose something to change I would probably say to add an A Boogie or The Kid Laroi verse to it. Other than this, the song is at a perfect length, not too long and not too short. The track sits at 2 minutes and 48 seconds long and the entire time keeps the listeners on their toes! I am looking forward to seeing what else Shy Gawdly and Vybe Ent have coming next!
