Rick Ross Should Battle 50 Cent in a Verzuz (Photos)
The two rappers ought to use words as weapons
Acclaimed wordsmiths 50 Cent and Rick Ross should set aside their differences and engage in verbal warfare on the Verzuz stage.
It may be a bit lopsided in terms of studio albums, where Rozay has released six more than Mr. Curtis Jackson. The truth is 50 Cent has a slew of guest appearances he could unload on the biggest boss we’ve seen thus far.
If the two get into the zone, they will be able to let the music speak for itself. Their feud will become passé as Rick Ross would be like Shaq in his prime, and 50 Cent would be like Dwight Howard right now. The former would be dominant and energetic, and the latter would be strong with a great grasp on finesse.
A Verzuz with JAY-Z and Rick Ross would not work. JAY-Z is Michael Jordan, and the aggressive will to win would outdo any chances of Ricky Ross has of ever competing, even if his catalog is almost as deep as Hov’s. 50 would be the likely battler.
The “9 Shots” rapper would be the second for Rozay to face off against on the Verzuz stage. In August of last year, Ross engaged in a fight of words with 2 Chainz, the Carmelo Anthony of the rap game.
50 seems content with producing series television like BMF. Ross claims his rap foe collected a modest two hundred fifty thousand dollars for his duties behind the camera.
Curtis Jackson aimed at Ross too by saying Ross’ album, Richer than I’ve Ever Been, first week sales looked funny in the light.
This whole exchange is much more shallow than the actual beef 50 has with Ja Rule, who also participated in a Verzuz against Fat Joe earlier this year.
The silly nonsense with 50 Cent and Ja Rule has serious undertones to it, but it should have been handled the same way Jay ordered the beef with Lance “Un” Rivera.
Instead, the “Many Men” artist chooses to prolong the tiff between him and Ja. With Ross, the spat started over a recording rather than an altercation at a studio over two decades ago with the “Put it on Me” star.
Ross would have leverage over 50 if he knows how to press his buttons. 50 Cent is a certified troll. As one of the most lyrically skilled rappers in the realm, he has proven that he is a genuine creator. Without a doubt, he likes there to be confusion and tension in the atmosphere to be creatively charged and productive.
Ross, is more methodical. He doesn’t feed off of beef and discord, but rather elevates above it to reach new rungs on the ladder to success.
Both men could do a Verzuz without embarrassing themselves, or the platform, like Bizzy Bone did just two weeks ago. They have a better understanding of corporate America and the ability to see their stars rise without damaging their careers. There is business over nonsense on both sides.
When it comes to two of rap’s juggernauts, the Verzuz battle would be riveting. The melodic flow of 50 Cent and the overpowering cadence of Ross would be a welcome presence on that stage.
If there ever were a platform for these contenders, Verzuz would supply them both with the means to hash out their differences before the world.
By aspiring to be the best in the game, both performers have the chance to transform their dispute into something far more enlightening. They possess the ability to display song by song their expressiveness through audio.
So whatever the “Mafia Music” artist was thinking of playing against JAY-Z, he should banish the thought and laser in on getting in the post with 50 Cent.
