Rapper Lil Tjay has been arrested and charged with drug possession after authorities found heroin in his car following a traffic stop, according to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Narcotics Unit.

In an official statement released today, the police department states that officers pulled over Tjay for driving without headlights in South Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

Upon approaching his vehicle, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car and subsequently searched it, finding two bags of heroin, which they estimated to be worth $2,000 in total.

Who is Lil Tjay?

Born Tavaris Preston, 27-year-old rapper Lil Tjay is not only a rapper, but also an actor. He's best known for his role in Expelled! A hip hop tale, which came out in 2010.

The movie was a huge hit and propelled him to stardom. The Oakland native's rise to fame started at an early age when he began rapping as a teenager.

It didn't take long for him to amass thousands of fans online through social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram. On those sites, he posted tons of videos that showcased his unique sense of humor and dynamic personality.

Rapper Lil Tjay has been arrested and charged

Reportedly, rapper Lil Tjay has been arrested and charged for narcotics possession after he was involved in a car accident. The young artist was reportedly cited when police arrived on scene, allegedly due to traces of marijuana in his vehicle.

However, it is also reported that there were narcotics charges brought against him as well, although they are not detailed at present time. More information will be available as soon as it becomes available to media sources. As of now no further details have emerged except that his debut album Just an American Boy is still slated for release later in 2016.

Fans hope that despite these charges, he'll still be able to make good on his dream of becoming a star.

What does Free Lil TJay mean?

The rapper’s first name is actually Terrance, but he goes by his nickname of Lil TJay because it stands for Little Terrance. And free in hip-hop slang also means drugs, which prosecutors say was what he was caught dealing on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities were tipped off by a community activist who reportedly overheard an arrestee talking about selling narcotics to Lil TJay. When police went to question him, they found both cocaine and ecstasy in his possession. His bail has been set at $25,000.

This isn't Mr. Rapper's first run-in with authorities. He was arrested last year after allegedly assaulting a woman outside of a nightclub. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault charges and received probation as part of his sentence. We'll keep you updated as more details emerge in this case, but don't expect any further legal trouble from Lil TJay anytime soon - he just signed a new record deal!

The Incident

Earlier today, March 15th, Rapper Lil Tjay was arrested in his hometown of Atlanta for possession of a narcotic. It is unknown which type of drug he was allegedly in possession of at present time. The police have not yet confirmed any further details regarding either his identity or occupation.

However, multiple sources have confirmed that he has previously released several tracks on SoundCloud, including I Don’t Sell Molly No More. This song had attracted over 6 million plays by its loyal fans before it was taken down by SoundCloud several weeks ago due to copyright claims made against it by Universal Music Group.

The Next Steps For Lil TJay

Though TJay has had multiple run-ins with law enforcement, including a few in-store altercations, his most recent arrest could be considered his biggest mistake yet. The rapper's charged with possession of a controlled substance, which could land him in jail for up to 2 years.

However, with legal representation (and perhaps an amicable judge), he may end up being able to get out of it without serving any time at all. As far as what comes next for Lil TJay? It's anyone's guess; if he keeps making more mistakes like his latest one, however, we suspect he won't have much of a career left by that point.

Will he go to jail?

Will he go to jail or will he have his conviction overturned on appeal? If so, why? What would be his punishment for possession of narcotics if he were convicted? Does he have a criminal record?

Does it matter if he's famous or not? How might a non-famous person accused of similar crimes fare in court? Was police use of force in any way excessive and therefore illegal in arresting him on suspicion of drug possession, even if they turned out to be right (that is, that they found drugs)?

Is there anything about his arrest that stands out as unusual? If so, what was it? How did people react to news of his arrest on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook? Why do you think people reacted differently depending on whether they were fans or critics of Lil Tjay?

Is there anything else you want to know about how celebrities are treated by law enforcement versus regular citizens when arrested for crimes like narcotics possession? Why do you think these differences exist between how we treat celebrities and how we treat regular citizens who commit similar crimes like possessing narcotics without a prescription.

Would your answers change if it had been Justin Bieber who was arrested instead of Lil Tjay. Why or why not?
