Okay so here's what happened last week (6/26-7/2). I go back into the week before because there were some releases I missed that should be covered.

Not exactly a new single, but a new visual per say. Kung Fu Kenny dropped a video for his song "ELEMENT.," off his latest album DAMN. This serves as his third visual off the album, following "DNA." and "HUMBLE.". Amazing and super powerful images in this video... well, when isn't Kendrick serving up amazing content.

And on that note, TDE’s president, Punch, releases his first song of 2017 titled “2010 Vision.” TDE is loaded with talent, they’re pretty damn unstoppable right now. I don’t know man, 2017 is looking like it belongs to them.

After dropping two albums back to back, FUTURE and HNDRXX, Future recently released two new songs along with music videos for each: “PIE” featuring Chris Brown, and “Extra Luv” featuring YG.

Royce da 5'9 teams up with Slaughterhouse… yes, I said Slaughterhouse. Not quite all of them but we’ll take it. Here’s the new fire joint off Royce da 5’9’s new mixtape, “Chopping Block."

Impatiently waiting for Paranoia, we’ll have to take his singles for now. Last week, Dave East brought us “Only One King,” an EastMix on Travis Scott’s “Green and Purple.” This week Dave East dropped an original joint “No Back and Fourth,” produced by Mr. Authentic.

After his run with Chris Brown on “Tone It Down,” Gucci Mane comes back with Desiigner on “Liife

With Rather You Than Me still in heavy rotation, Rick Ross teams up with Anthony Hamilton once again on their new joint “Glory of War.” Check it out on Spotify or Apple Music.

As predicted last week, Tyler the Creator released two new songs. He first released a visual “Who Dat Boy” featuring A$AP Rocky. Moments later Tyler released “911 / Mr. Lonely” featuring Frank Ocean—stream via Spotify or Apple Music, but cop it over at iTunes.

While you wait for Smokey’s Revenge, take a listen Curren$y’s new joint “Money in the Air.”

While Cyhi The Prynce, with help from ScHoolboy Q, released "Movin' Around," and Fabolous teamed up with PNB Rock on the latest track “Stacks Up." Let's not forget this solid team: E-Smitty teams up with Kool G Rap, Rebel Rodomez and Alpha Memphis on “My Life.”

Kehlani and Lil Yachty collaborate on "Faking It"—the first visual off of the new Calvin Harris project. The video is pretty much the live version of the album cover, you can definitely get lost in it.

We've also seen releases from Anoyd “Remote,” Wave Deisel “Wild Horse,Stalley "Madden ’96," Devin Lee "Philosopher’s Stove,Skepta “Hypocrisy" Reezy “Draped.

Since his passing, artists have been dropping tribute after tribute for Prodigy: Q-Tip,Knxwledge, R-Mean,Cookin’ Soul, and more. This week we got a tribute from Chris Rivers, Big Pun’s son, over the Shook Ones beat.

4:44. Where the hell do I begin? Jay Z's thirteenth album dropped exclusively on Friday for Sprint x TIDAL members, and well it started a frenzy. Hov then made it public for two hours on Sunday. All you had to do was submit your email and a direct download was sent to you... FOR FREE. What?! Now the album is back to being exclusive, but will make it to other streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music sometime this week. There was mention of physical copies that will include the visuals we've seen sweep all of social media. Physical copies are available for pre-order via Amazon for its official July 7th release date. Featuring Frank Ocean, Damian Marley, and his mom, Gloria Carter, even makes an appearance. I'm also pretty sure Beyoncé supports with some background vocals. The 10-track project is... brilliant. That's all I'll say for now, review DEFINITELY coming soon.

But Jigga wasn't the only one to release a project on Friday.

TLC released their self-titled last album. Stream it via Spotify or Apple Music, cop it at iTunes. T-Boz and Chilli will be heading out on the "I Love the '90s: The Party Continues Tour," along side Naughty By Nature, Biz Markie, Montell Jordan, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, and more. The tour officially starts July 7th, for more details check them out here.

If you wish to see T-Boz & Chilli live in person you're in luck, TLC is heading out on the “I Love the ’90s: The Party Continues Tour,” which kicks off July 7 with Naughty By Nature, Biz Markie, Montell Jordan, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, and more (peep dates here).

Another final album for the books, Z-Ro dropped No Love Boulevard. The 14 track project is available to stream via Spotify or Apple Music, but cop it at iTunes.

Trouble’s 16 EP is now out, featuring T.I., Skippa Da Flippa, Peewee Longway and Boosie Badazz. You can stream it via Spotify or Apple Music, but get yourself a copy at iTunes.

Young Buck also released his mixtape 10 Toes Down on Friday. The 10-track project features Boosie Badazz and and Moneybagg Yo is available to stream via Apple Music and cop it at iTunes.

Calvin Harris highly anticipated album dropped Friday as well. After following the EDM wave, Calvin has been putting out some dope Hip Hop and R&B joints. His star-studded Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 is out now. Stream it via Spotify or Apple Music, get your own personal copy over at iTunes.

KGoon, the Montreal emcee, is released his debut EP, TABLES TURN. After his cosign by N.O.R.E, things are looking good for the kid. Stream it via SoundCloud, but get your copy at of course iTunes.

Releases I missed last week: Berner and Styles P came out with Vibes; Jarren Benton, The Mink Coat Killa LP, available on Apple Music but buy it on iTunes.

Oh and I'm kicking myself that I missed this one. Royce 5’9, with DJ Green Lantern, dropped The Bar Exam 4. The mixtape features Slaughterhouse, eLZhi, Nick Grant, Conway and Westside Gunncan.

Big News

Kanye West reportedly is leaving TIDAL. According to TMZ, he never received his bonus for bringing in 1.5 millions new TIDAL members with his last album, The Life of Pablo. It was also agreed that he would be reimbursed for his music videos. Apparently, he is owed about 3 million. Yikes. This occurred after the released of 4:44, where Jay-Z dropped a couple bars about Kanye. Coincidence? I think not. In addition, Kanye reportedly will not be looking into entering any exclusive streaming deals upon his album releases. This includes Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play. In doing so, he is trying to avoid what happened with TIDAL. this doesn't mean we won't get any music. No, this means he will be making his music public to everyone on all platforms. This does hurt a bit, considering Kanye and Hov go way, waayyy back. Something tells me that this is more than just business, it's personal.

Metro Boomin, the trap God of producers, is launching his own label called Boominati Worldwide. It will be run in partnership with Republic Records and Universal Music Group. He had this to say:

“Launching Boominati Worldwide is the next step in my career as a producer, an artist, and a businessman. I created the label to represent a collective of highly gifted individuals who have the shared gift of being able to influence the world through culture and art.”

Logic is also launching his own label, Elysium Records. Under which, he represents John Lindahl, Damian Lamar Hudson, Big Lenbo, and Jessica Andrea. He took to YouTube to announce the label and that he created it for the artists he considers family:

"I wanted to create a place where they can feel free and literally do whatever they want because this is so much more than just music.”

Coming soon...

After a hectic rollout for his MC4, things are looking good for French Montana. His single "Unforgettable" featuring Swae Lee, has gone Platinum and now he's announced Jungle Rules is dropping July 14th. He made the announcement last week at the end of his BET Awards performance - don't kill me, I missed it! Let's hope he avoids the same issues he ran into with that last album.

Tyga has also confirmed he will be dropping a new album July 21st, Bitch I'm The Shit 2.

Looks like there is a new Dreamchasers on the way. Well not exactly new. In an interview with LA's Real 92.3, Meek Mill discussed a couple of promising things. Wins & Losses project is in the midst of being mixed and mastered, and there will be a compilation mixtape of all the Dreamchasers music he put out. No official dates just yet, but stay tuned in.

Stalley announced new album, New Wave, that is set to release July 28th. It is available for pre-order on iTunes already, and check out the album’s first single “Madden ’96” above.

Stay Tuned

That sums up this past week in Hip Hop. Come back next week for more.
