Why do we say “stop the violence”? What is in our best interests to repeat the notion of “increasing the peace”? With the battery of NLE Choppa at an airport by an alleged fan of Never Broke Again YoungBoy, the questions surface again and again.

Maybe there is room for more acts of force to be started against these rappers to weed out the weak and strengthen those built for the game. It should come as no surprise people will be pushing for the fighting to escalate. These are the same people who will be crying crocodile tears as the result of some rapper’s demise.

As hip hop artists navigate through the treacherous waters of the industry, they must also contend with the bitter streets. They’re focused on getting money and fame one moment and then they have to consider wearing bulletproof vests and having their hand skills tested.

For NLE Choppa, it is a time for him to realize with crystalline clarity the meaning of separating himself from beef. Or not. He might choose to grab his gats and go after the assailant who knocked him to the ground. This, of course, would not be the ideal way of dealing with the problem. It’s just the mentality of these ethically stunted individuals within the genre.

If more violence and the start of physical force continue throughout not just hip hop but the populace at large, then that will just further the viciousness of coercion. With NLE, he had every right to defend himself against the assault.

In taking his time to continue being the artist he set out to be, he has shown he is like his idol, Tupac Shakur. The latter had beef, got into brawls, and eventually fell by gunfire. NLE has studied Pac’s catalogue and has patterned himself as a Tupac 2.0.

If he is to learn anything from this incident, it is that he should be on guard against future pummelings. He should be able to discern a fan and a supporter. Anyone who claims to be a fan is saying they’re a fanatic and they’ll do anything and everything to see that their figure is defended. There is mass subjectivity in the fan. The supporter is just the opposite. That individual can state what is right and wrong with an artist from an objective perspective.

If there is to be a life and career for NLE and other rappers, it is important for them to understand the horrific nature of how frequent lives can be lost or respect driven away if the person survives.

The calls to “silence the violence” only go on to show how many people have no conception of human behavior. The psychology of the average rapper is to not project decades into the future. He or she is poised to consider only the immediate moment. They seek only to gain trinkets and false fame only to then realize their life was a sham.

NLE will be the rapper who might be able to bounce back even stronger than before. Given he still has his life, he may command on behalf of his shooters (if he has any) to do his bidding and snuff out his competition. Or he could snitch and make his enemies into criminals and allow them no recourse when it comes to being brought before the law.

To get to that bright blessed day with the sun shining through the crevices of the rap game to send beams on the dark parts, all participants in the genre should reconcile. They should find it within themselves the ability to change the course of their actions and walk in the light of morality.
