Niniola or Yemi Alade?

In the Nigerian music industry, we have a lot of females repping the country nationally and internationally and it's always a joy to see them making it big, performing on some of the biggest stages and going global. Music making is not an easy thing to do and we have seen the pros and cons of the music making processes but the undeniable truth is that these artistes keep striving hard to make good music that fans appreciate and we can't help but render praises to them for their consistency. The true definition of an artiste is the ability to make good music that would reach people and influence them in any way possible and with the growing catalogue of musicians in Nigeria, the industry is going more global.

Today, we are analyzing the better artiste between Niniola and Yemi Alade based on some criteria:

- Quality of Music

- Voice/Delivery

- Lyrics/Output

- Live Performances

NINIOLA

Niniola Apata is the unrivalled Queen of Afrohouse in Nigeria. Overtime, she has deftly and successfully crafted her art and carved a space for herself in the Nigerian music industry. The elder sister to Teni, she has successfully carried a genre across the shores of Nigeria spreading to Africa, US and Europe.

- Quality of Music :

Niniola's music is divinely created and it stems from the fact that her music is distinct and exceptional. One sweet thing about Niniola songs is that they all are professionally produced, mixed and mastered and carefully sung. The way her beats wield is amazing and it's evident in songs like Maradona, Sicker, Boda Sodiq, Designer and Addicted. As her genre is house, they are often characterized with bass, synths, horns and electronic drums. Her sound might be boringly repetitive but it still bangs.

Voice/Delivery:

Nini's voice is like a mix of fire and ice. It's alluring the same way it's fierce. Her voice is unique and it gives some kind of aura and inflections and the delivery in Yoruba makes it more beautiful. Her delivery is also very amazing on all of her songs both singles and featured verses.

V/D - 100%

Lyrics/Output:

This is an aspect where Nini do not really fill in the gap due to most of her lyrics. On songs like sicker, the lyrics on the verses sounded jam-packed and irrelevant to the theme of the song and also on Maradona, some of the lyrics seemed like it was written in an extreme rush and it wasn't really coordinated. As her lyrics are x rated, most of them are wack and it mostly looks like she just freestyles. There's an exemption to her Rnb songs though and she writes the lyrics well but for her dance songs, it's a no.

L/O - 90%

Live Performances:

Oh! Nini excels so extraordinarily in this aspect. She conjurs a spellbinding performance when on stage and she exudes extreme energy and charisma with sexy dance moves, intense choreography with dancers and high vocal delivery. Anyone who has attended a live Niniola concert would be able to relate with what I'm saying. Niniola is a performer!

LP: 100% (or maybe 101!)

Now to YEMI ALADE

Yemi Alade is undeniably Mama Africa. She has successfully held up the Africa banner and taken our culture to the shores of Africa, Europe and USA. An Igbo and Yoruba girl, she has carefully made and keeps making her music to reach different parts of the world thereby gathering more fans all over. Her crown can never be refuted and her music will always be legendary.

Quality of Music:

Yemi really knows how to do the Afropop thing and her music is very ear pleasing. Though her sound of music is monotonous at times, it still goes down to the fact that she works with the best producers and sing on great, back breaking and banging beats. I must also say that Yemi's mixing and mastering is top notch too, her voice comes in full grown effect. Songs like Decieve, Dancina, True Love, Rain and Johnny proves my point so well. Her sounds are authentic!!.

QOM - 98%

Voice/Delivery

Yemi's voice is quite good too but there To me, there is basically no tone, flavor, range or texture of any kind. Most time, her voice sounds like her talking v oice going on a beat and that's it!. Besides that, it is good and solid. Delivery wise, she rocks well because she knows how to deliver a song well with the Pidgin and all. It'son

V/D - 95%

Lyrics/Output:

Yemi's lyrics are way better than Nini's in most cases. On Yemi songs, she carefully tells a story in the pidgin she uses and her lyrics are well coordinated and connected. Songs like Deceive and Rain proves that's she's a good lyricist and the output is always top notch. Her lyrics have a sort of rhyming too that Niniola does not have so it's like a plus for her here!

L/O 100

Live Performance

Yemi is also a beast in performing on stage. With the sparkling outfit to the African hair and the energetic dancers, she literally brings down the roof during a live show. The only thing I can point out is that she does not do much of fan interactions unlike Niniola who goes into the crowd and dance vigorously with the audience, taking pictures and taking the ladies for a worrisome twerk. Seriously, that's not a lapse, I just wanted to point that out. Nonetheless, Yemi's concerts are a go-to ones for life!.

LP: 100%

These ratings are just based on my personal opinion and not everybody may agree with me but I know some would relate to quite a few. Also, I don't mean to bring up any rivalry between the two artistes because they are both queen in their rights and I'm a fan of both too!.

I'd really love to get a collaboration from both of them soon as I can't wait for both forces to be joined in music fierceness! .
